Denial
of Christ
In doctrine.
Mark 8:38 For whoever is
ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him
the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father
with the holy angels.”
2 Tim 1:8 Therefore do
not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but
share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of
God,
In practice.
Phil 3:10 that I may
know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His
sufferings, being conformed to His death,
Phil 3:18 For many walk,
of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping,
that they are the enemies
of the cross of Christ:
Titus 1:16 They profess
to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and
disqualified for every good work.
A characteristic of false teachers.
2 Pet 2:1 But there were
also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers
among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the
Lord who bought them, and
bring on themselves swift destruction.
Jude 1:4 For certain men
have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation,
ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only
Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Is the spirit of Antichrist.
1 John 2:22–23 Who is a
liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies
the Father and the Son. 23
Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges
the Son has the Father also.
1 John 4:3 and every
spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not
of God. And this is the spirit
of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and
is now already in the world.
Christ will deny those guilty of.
Matt 10:33 But whoever
denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in
heaven.
2 Tim 2:12 If we endure,
We shall also reign with Him.
If we deny Him,
He also will deny us.
Leads to destruction.
Jude 1:15 to execute
judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their
ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the
harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”

Peter.
Matt 26:69–75 Now Peter
sat outside in the courtyard. And a servant girl came to him, saying, “You
also were with Jesus of Galilee.” 70
But he denied it before them
all, saying, “I do not know what you are saying.”
71 And when he had gone
out to the gateway, another girl
saw him and said to those
who were there, “This
fellow also was with Jesus
of Nazareth.” 72
But again he denied with an oath, “I do not know the Man!”
73 And a little later those
who stood by came up and said to Peter, “Surely you also are
one of them, for your
speech betrays you.” 74
Then he began to curse and swear, saying,
“I do not know the Man!” Immediately a rooster
crowed. 75 And
Peter remembered the word of Jesus who had said to him, “Before the rooster
crows, you will deny Me three times.” So he went out and wept bitterly.
The Jews.
John 18:40 Then they all
cried again, saying, “Not this Man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a
robber.
Acts 3:13–14 The God of
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant
Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he
was determined to let Him
go. 14
But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be
granted to you,
