Response to comment: “Then everyone who doesn't believe that we need your invisible, magic sky friend is a crying, wicked pervert?”

There are certainly deeper depths and degrees of sin. According to scripture it is clear, we are “in Christ” and righteous or not and wicked. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in union with the Messiah Jesus our Lord (Ro 6:23, ISV).”

We do need God if we are not interested in eternal life. Only an eternal God can give eternal life.

If you do not believe in God, scripture says that you are a fool and wicked.  I would not say that, God said that (Ps 14:1).  I would not know if you are a pervert or not.  But God knows.  We should confess our sins to Him because He knows anyway.  He is willing to take our burdens.

The Bible teaches that people are either wicked or righteous.  The "righteous" have no good of themselves but they are declared righteous or seen as righteous by the Father.

Response to comment: “Then we can be sure that you will return to defend your idiocy? Why am I skeptical?”

I’ll do my best.

Response to comment: “I am not giving you my opinion. I am merely stating a fact based on [scripture the beliefs of late-Bronze-Age primitives.  There.  Fixed.]”

Response to comment: “No, God does not know how many hairs are on the boogie man’s head […then he's not omniscient?]."

God is omniscient.  Open theists are seeking to root out the pagan Greek mythology from Christianity.  "All" knowledge (quantity) contrast to "love" (quality) which flows from goodness (quality).  Paul states that "thought I have prophecy...but have not love, I am nothing (1 Cor. 13:2)." * The Foul-mouthed Comedian: George Carlin did not go to hell because:
Reason 1: he did more evil than good
Reason 2: because he didn't tithe
Reason 3: because he promoted abortion
Reason 4: because he had a filthy mouth
Reason 5: because he didn't keep the commandments
Reason 6: because he wasn't a Republican
Reason 7: because he didn't go to church

George Carlin went to hell because he despised the sacrifice of Jesus Christ who bled and died to pay for Carlin's sin and was resurrected to overcome death and give eternal life to those who humble themselves and trust Him.

Response to comment:  "You have failed to make a convincing case for the existence of God.  Like so many others, you proceed from the assumption that a God exists and then proceed to answer theological questions that no one has asked.  Start from the beginning. Show us your evidence for God.  (Note: The Bible is excluded from the body of evidence due to circular argumentation.. i.e. God exists because the Bible God wrote says so)".

We can learn a lot from Jesus, because when He spoke with them He began where they were.  For example, with the woman at the well He spoke of a "living water".  She was right there.  It made sense.  “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but hwhoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him iwill become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

"Show us your evidence of God."  There is specific revelation given by God in scripture in the book of Genesis and and general revelation obvious to all people:

  gThe heavens declare His righteousness,
And all the peoples see His glory.

You can look at the stars and see complexity.  You can look at your own hand and see order.  Man is without excuse before God (Ro 2:1).  There are intellectual atheists, realizing more and more that there answers are not holding up.  See as site that even participate in.

"Materialistic ideology has subverted the study of biological and cosmological origins so that the actual content of these sciences has become corrupted. The problem, therefore, is not merely that science is being used illegitimately to promote a materialistic worldview, but that this worldview is actively undermining scientific inquiry, leading to incorrect and unsupported conclusions about biological and cosmological origins. At the same time, intelligent design (ID) offers a promising scientific alternative to materialistic theories of biological and cosmological evolution -- an alternative that is finding increasing theoretical and empirical support. Hence, ID needs to be vigorously developed as a scientific, intellectual, and cultural project.  (UncommonDescent.com)

Christians do not have a blind faith.  The spirit of God also testifies to the truth in a person (indwelled by the Holy Spirit):  "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life (1 Jn 5:13, NKJV)."

Response to comment:  "[One] was so distressed by the idea that his God repeatedly hardened Pharaoh's heart."

Pharaoh's heart was hard.  God revealed what was already in his heart (Ex 14:4).

Response to comment:  "Is there any finite sin so bad that it merits an infinity of punishment?"

Do not underestimate the exceeding sinfulness of sin.  God is holy.  He cannot look upon sin and wickedness (Hab. 1:13).

Gino Geraci puts it like this:  What happens when you offend your neighbor?  Apologize.  Maybe he won't deliver your mail mistakenly sent to his address.  What happens when you offend your congressman?  Say slander?  Perhaps he'll sue you.  You'll spend much time in court and it will cost you thousands of dollars.  What happens when you offend the president?  Say pull a gun on him?  You'll probably be hauled off to jail and spend some time there.  What happens when you offend a holy God, too perfect to look upon sin (Hab 1:13)?  You will suffer an eternal judgment from an eternal God.  Even after a lifetime of hell in eternity and then some, you can never pay your sin debt to God.

Jesus did.  Your sin is on you or it is on Jesus.  It is His free gift of life, though it cost Him everything.

Response to comment:  "Have you read any books besides the Bible mythology?  The Quran, the Bhagavad Gita, I Ching, or the Necronomicon?  Personally I find the Native American myths to be much more entertaining and colorful than the Judaeo Christian myths, but I guess everyone has their own tastes in fiction."

I have read the Quran and studied other world religions.  It would not be my desire to live again and again until I merge into nothingness.  That would be the ultimate cruelty.  I'll go with the empty tomb.  If you seek life, you go to only who rose from the dead.  Buddha, Gandhi and Mohammed are all dead.  Their bones are dry dust.  Jesus death never saved anyone.  His resurrection did (McGee).

Athiesm & Agnosticism

“I was once full of confidence that Darwinism justified my atheism. I felt I had investigated the issue sufficiently, having studied biology, chemistry, geology, anthropology, and other sciences. No doubt about it, natural selection acting on random variation had put God out of a job
But then I began to go beyond the obvious, to set aside my prejudices, to ask questions I had never posed before, and to pursue the clues of science and history wherever they led. Instead of letting naturalism limit my search, I opened myself to the full range of possibilities.

Frankly, I wasn't prepared for what would happen.
The facts of science systematically eroded the foundation of Darwinism until it could no longer support the weight of my atheistic conclusions. After two years of intensive scientific research I came to a startling conclusion the data of the physical world points powerfully toward the existence of a Creator…:
