Should Christians Take Up Arms Against the New World Order?

Response to comment [from a "Christian"]:  [Should Christians Take Up Arms Against the New World Order?]

Yes, we should take up arms and defend ourselves (Lk 22:36).  We occupy until Jesus' return (Lk 19:13).

There are four four main camps of end-time prophecy (the apocalypse):  Dispensational Premillennialism, Historic Premillennialism, Amillennialism, Postmillennialism.

Response to comment [from a Christian]:  "If someone put a gun to your head and said that if you do not deny Christ you will be shot...Many believers have already died for their faith."

Interesting question.  Defensive training would say:  lie, put up your hands, say "ok...ok...ok", put the assailant at ease, while you look for an opening to distract and/or remove the weapon.  Then, I think of Cassie Bernall who was faced with that very situation during the Columbine High School massacre (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbine_High_School_massacre).  Eric Harris pointed a gun at her head and asked her if she believed in God.  She gave the right answer just before meeting the Lord.  God bless her.  I will be happy to know her in heaven one day.

[Lk 22:36]

"...cutting off ears...cutting off limbs (John Kerry)."

Don't cut off ears then.

Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip; and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one [Luke 22:36].
You had better pack suitcase and get your traveler’s checks if you are going out for the Lord today and give out the gospel. You had better be prepared to protect yourself and your loved ones. We are living in difficult days. The Lord said, “He that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.” Why? For self protection, of course. They were living in days that required a sword. We need to recognize that fact also. If we do not resist evil today, all kinds of evil will befall us. We could end up in the hospital or have some of our loved ones slain.

Response to comment [from other]:  "I have explained Lu 22:36 in post 51 which you accepted in post 64."

I suggested you not cut off people's ears like John Kerry.  You think that I accepted your bolded text "put sword into sheath" as Jesus telling us to put our swords away forever?  Being a good false teacher, I'm sure that you would like Christians to do this.

Meanwhile, what scripture actually teaches--Jesus knew that Christians would run into trouble and that they would need to defend themselves (Lk 22:36).

I'm going to buy another big gun every time you pervert scripture.  What a collection I'll have.

[Eph 6:23-24]

Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen [Eph. 6:23–24].
"Paul’s own swan song is found in 2 Timothy 4:6–8: “For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” Paul reflected what a good soldier of Christ should be and what rewards awaited him.
He closes with a twofold benediction. Most of the great words of the gospel are contained in it: peace, love, faith, grace. Hope is absent, for the believer is in the heavenly places where all is realized.
“Peace” was the form of greeting of the Jewish world. A sinner must know the grace of God before he can experience the peace of God. This is the peace of God which passes all understanding.
“Love” in verse 23 means love for the other believers. This is a fruit of the Holy Spirit.
In verse 24 the “love” is of the believer for the Lord Jesus Christ, and this love is in incorruptness (a better translation than “in sincerity”).
“Faith” means faith in Christ which produces active love. These flow from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
“Grace” is the key word of the epistle. It opened the epistle (Eph. 1:2) and is the subject of the epistle (Eph. 2:7–8). It now concludes the epistle. It is a fitting word because it is God’s grace which saved us and which sustains us today."

Response to comment [from a pagan]:  "I'm surprised to hear you like guns, never would have thought that!  What kind do you have now?"

AR's hunting rifles, shot guns, AKs, and a large assortment of pistols.  On our wish list for this year is a 50 cal.  My son wants a Barrett...And two full grown Shepherds to protect the guns.

"Sounds like my gun safe!

Couldn't afford the Barret myself, but I do have a 50 BMG built by Serbu (.50 BFG) in Tampa Florida..set it up with the BORS ranging system and a Leupold Mark 4, 6.5-20X50 LR/T, has turned out to be a very good rifle. Has your son looked over Barrett's .416? That looks to be a promising set up, stays supersonic farther than a .50 so it can buck the wind farther out, making for more one shot hits.

An AK is next on my list, trying to find a Kalashnikov, so far no luck...every body seems to be sold out.

Good luck on the wish list!"

Let me have my son answer you (Gozilla is his name)...

:bowser:Response to comment [from Gozilla]:  "I did look at the 416 but for that kind of money I would rather have a 50 bmg. The Ak we have is Romanian. It is all tricked out with a laser custom stock rails and reflex site. I am also looking for a good deal on a benchmade infidel knife. My two favorites that we have are the Glock 21 and the Bushmaster AR15."

I would just remind Gozilla that our trust is in the Lord not gold, guns and groceries (Geraci, Ps 115:11).  ;)

"...two grown Shepherds, not puppies you will train?"

We have a litter of German Shepherd puppies, too.

Response to comment [from a "Christian"]:  [I'm sure you would like Christians to lay down arms.]  "For the sake of what?"

Perhaps you are convinced that gun ownership is not a good idea for the average U.S citizen.  Or, maybe you think that Christians should not defend themselves.  There is no scriptural support for this.  We are to defend ourselves (Lk 22:36).

Our Second Amendment rights protect our First Amendment rights.  The founders knew this.

I get a little suspicious when liberals want to take guns.  It's not happening on my block.

"How many guns did he [the apostle Paul] have and how many people did he kill?"

Saul murdered Christians before his conversion (Acts 22:4).  After he was saved on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:3–22), he did not kill anyone.

Swords were used by the Jews (Jdj 20:2; 2Sa 24:9) for self defense (Lu 22:36), to destroy their enemies (Nu 21:24; Jos 6:21), and for punishing criminals (1Sa 15:33; Ac 12:2).

[Quote] "By which of this do you kill? Is it by peace, love, faith or grace?"

Was dropping the atom bomb on Hiroshima loving?  I'll remind you, it took dropping another bomb on Nagasaki for the Japanese to surrender in WWII.  More people would have died had the Japanese not surrendered.  Having to drop two bombs clarifies that point.  They never would have surrendered without an incentive.

If bad guys would stop murdering innocent people, there would be no need for bombs or guns.  In the meantime, we defend ourselves (Lk 22:36).

Do you believe the people we are fighting now are evil?

The administration says the new profiling security measures are temporary--do the right thing for political expediency--then undo it.
