Born this Way

This criminal said he "acted on instinct". Isn't that what homosexuals say? Isn't that what pedophiles say? Should we condone this man's behavior because he was born with a propensity to kidnap, probably rape and probably murder children?

Sidebar: What do you think would Mozart would think of no-so-lady-like Gaga?

Lev. 18:22, 20:13, 1 Kin. 14:24, Rom. 1:24, 26, 27

Response to comment [from an atheist]: "The neighbor reportedly told police he acted on instinct" .NOT the kidnapper."

Never mind (SNL) I misunderstood the radio report.

The hero is probably not a pervert.

"You ought to stop editing your posts after conversations have taken place..."

I posted a correction but the point remains.  Why would you prefer my leaving the error uncorrected?

"...[Y]ou look like a raging idiot...."

Ad hominem.

Baloney.

Criminals never say this.

Didn't he die of syphilis? Maybe he isn't the best go to guy.

I would have linked the video but it was way too skanky.

Response to comment [from an atheist]: [Didn't he die of syphilis?] "Obsess much?!"

Project much? You thought we enjoyed discussing the results of fornication?

Response to comment [from other]: [Criminals never say this. ] "You should seek professional help."

You should discuss issues. Not people.

Response to comment [from a Christian]: [Doctors say pedophile lost urge after brain tumor removed]

The great physician (Lk 5:12-15) operates on filthy hearts (Ps 51:17).

Response to comment [from other]: [ You should discuss issues. Not people. /Ad hominem ] "...[N]o it's not, never mind."

If you spent as much time on the issue as you do trying to convince others that I am a: [sixherb] sexist, intolerant, xenophobic, homophobic, racist, or bigot... you'd be far more interesting.

Response to comment [from other]: "Thought's not something that comes into play much with serpentdove..."

Ad hominem.

"He is not only dull himself, he is the cause of dullness in others." ~ Samuel Johnson

"Jump in a lake. The "issue" you posted was completely based on your misunderstanding..."

I misunderstood and there's still an issue but this thread is not a good example of it.  There are lots of things to talk about at TOL.

"You misread an article, you posted a thread based on what you misunderstood.  Then you "corrected" it and said the issue was the same, which is complete baloney. You spread misinformation."

"But you have a drinking problem." ~ Homer Simpson

Response to comment [from a Christian]: "I've used this argument many times with pro-homo types. Their responses is that pedophiles or, even, murderers might be born the way they are but since their behavior harms others and isn't consensual, it must be stopped."

There is no such thing as a victimless crime (Jas 1:15).

Response to comment [from other]: "Can you play much Mozart?  Lady Gaga can."

Are you a Sodomite? Gen. 19:4–14

Response to comment [from an atheist]: "So your God hated those in Sodom who were inhospitable..."

They used the wrong fork.

"Ge 19:4 the men of the city … all the people. Both the size of the lustful mob of men boisterously milling around Lot’s house and the widespread nature of Sodom’s moral perversion received emphasis both from the additional qualifiers used (“all the people from every quarter” and “both old and young”) and the request made (v. 5, “know them carnally”). Even acknowledging legitimate exaggeration in this use of “all” would not detract from this emphasis—this was indeed a wicked city!
Ge 19:5 know them carnally. They sought homosexual relations with the visitors. God’s attitude toward this vile behavior became clear when He destroyed the city (vv. 23–29). Cf. Lev. 18:22,29; 20:13; Rom. 1:26; 1 Cor. 6:9; 1 Tim. 1:10 where all homosexual behavior is prohibited and condemned by God.
Ge 19:6–8 Lot’s response betrayed tension in his ethics; his offer to gratify their sexual lust contradicted his plea not to act “so wickedly.” Such contradiction made clear also the vexation of spirit under which he lived in wicked Sodom (cf. 2 Pet. 2:6,7)."
MacArthur, John Jr: The MacArthur Study Bible. electronic ed. Nashville : Word Pub., 1997, c1997, S. Ge 19:4

"...[B]ut was OK with Lot sending his daughters out to be gang-raped by the mob instead of the travelers. Yep. Got it. What does that have to do with two sexually consenting adults, again?"

Thankfully, we don't worship Lot.

"Ge 19:8 do to them as you wish. The constraints of Eastern hospitality and the very purpose for which Lot had invited the visitors in (vv. 2,3), compelled Lot to offer his daughters for a less deviant (see notes on Rom. 1:24–27) kind of wickedness, so as to protect his guests. This foolish effort shows that while Lot was right with God (2 Pet. 2:7,8), he had contented himself with some sins and weak faith rather than leaving Sodom. But God was gracious to him because he was righteous, by faith, before God.
Ge 19:9 keeps acting as a judge. Their accusation suggests Lot had made moral pronouncements before, but his evaluation was no longer tolerable. pressed hard. Homosexual deviation carries an uncontrollable lust that defies restraint. Even when blinded, they tried to fulfill their lust (v. 11)."
MacArthur, John Jr: The MacArthur Study Bible. electronic ed. Nashville : Word Pub., 1997, c1997, S. Ge 19:6

[Are you a Sodomite?] "No."

Why do you have a freakish looking thing as your avatar?

"Because it's Lady Gaga and I love her."

That's a female. She looks like a drag queen. Perhaps that was her intension. At any rate, I don't know many heterosexual males who would make Lady Gaga their avatar. You appear quickly in every homo thread (as do many atheists) and your tag line is: I'm beautiful in my way, 'cause God makes no mistakes. ~ Lady Gaga

Response to comment [from a Christian]: "I believe the quote should be 'But you have a Gambling problem.' - Homer Simpson.  It's from the episode where Burns opens a Casino and Marge spends all her time playing the pokies. Homer is going on about his past screw ups (ie: "Remember when I married that woman in vegas? Well, You have a gambling problem.") etc etc...

You're right. I'd better not correct it lest ZooAnimal blow a gasket.

Response to comment [from other]: "...[P]ervert..."

Ad hominem.

"His mother should have thrown him away and kept the stork." ~ Mae West

Response to comment [from an atheist]: "Come on, SD, you know you invite abuse! You fairly beg for it!  You might as well open every thread you start with "Time for everybody to come and make fun of me!"

It started out slow but all in all not too bad. I don't rate thread but if I did this one would be upgraded from terrible to a mere bad.

"So everybody's not being scornful enough?"

This I don't mind, as long we learn something I'm happy. I learned something. Did you?
