Catholic Answers Relaunches Chastity Website
[Catholic Answers Relaunches Chastity Website: Catholic
Answers announced the launch of the rejuvenated Chastity.com, a website aimed at
helping Catholics understand and defend Catholic Church teaching on issues
related to human sexuality]
"Over the years, we've produced a substantial library of resources to help
people understand God's plan for their sexuality," said Jon Sorensen, Catholic
Answers director of marketing. "We have redesigned the site to provide users
with a better online experience and easier access to a lot more information.
The new Chastity.com includes the following enhancements:
• Improved structure and navigation via a spacious layout and intuitive
navigation.
• Hours of chastity-related video and audio content from Catholic Answers'
YouTube channel and Catholic Answers Live, the nation's top-rated Catholic radio
show.
• Chastity.com Blog will feature topical content from the Catholic Answers staff
and guest contributors.
• Mobile responsive design automatically adapts to fit your mobile device.
Sins against chastity and purity are hardly new, but it is difficult to imagine
another age more enslaved by a distorted view of sexuality. Instant access to
pornography, a casual "hookup" culture, widespread use of contraception and
sterilization, and the headlong retreat from marriage all derive from a
rejection of God's loving invitation to cooperate in his plan for the salvation
of souls.
Chastity.com will continue to evolve, introducing new content, visual
enhancements, and other online offerings. With this website as with all of its
works, Catholic Answers strives to show the world the joy of God's invitation.
Catholic Answers is the largest lay-run apologetics and evangelization
organization in the English-speaking world. The apostolate is dedicated to
serving Christ by bringing the fullness of Catholic truth to the world. We help
good Catholics become better Catholics, bring former Catholics "home," and lead
non-Catholics into the fullness of the faith."
Response to comment [from a Catholic]: [Divorce or separation] "...They cite Matt 19:6, " So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”" In a marriage ceremony, which the RCs consider a sacrament, the couple are vowing before God that they will remain faithful and together, as long as they both shall live. No mention of annulment, or mind changing, or breaking a vow to God."
"Jesus does not deny the tremendous difficulty of his
command. Instead, he says in verse ll, that the enablement to fulfill the
command not to remarry is a divine gift to his disciples. Verse 12 is an
argument that such a life is indeed possible because there are people who for
the sake of the kingdom, as well as lower reasons, have dedicated themselves to
live a life of singleness.
Jesus is not saying that some of his disciples have the ability to obey his
command not to remarry and some don't. He is saying that the mark of a disciple
is that they receive a gift of continence while non-disciples don't. The
evidence for this is l) the parallel between Matthew 19:11 and 13:11, 12) the
parallel between Matthew 19:12 and 13:9,43; 11:15, and 3) the parallel between
Matthew 19:11 and 19:26."
