Christianity Doesn't Make Sense

Response to comment [from an atheist]:  [Christianity is about passion]  "[I live] without passion."

God in interested in our holiness.  By the law, men saw that they come short of God's standards.  Their works could not save them (Ro 8:8).  Christ came to save not the righteousness, but sinners (1 Ti 1:15).  Man is in need of this hope found only in Christ.

Response to comment [from other]:  "[A] belief based in free will? How do you will yourself to believe the unbelievable?"

The only work you can do is to believe:  Jesus died; because of his death for your sin, you can be forgiven and receive eternal life (Col 2:6).

"Can I use my mind to trump facts?"

You can use your mind to find out the truth.  In fact, you are encouraged to (Mt 22:37).  Why would God give you a mind if he did not intend for you to use it?  The philosophers listed here are all very interesting.  When you finish with their child's play, why not hear what God has to say (1 Cor 1:25)?

"I must believe the earth is flat in order to go to heaven and avoid hell [or] die."

To be saved you must believe (Heb 11:6).  You can:  read the Bible; Take notes (we no longer have to carry stone tablets); and pray to receive Christ.
