Drudge: Santorum Story

[Santorum: 'I believe in good and evil' by Jim Acosta] "Phoenix (CNN) - Rick Santorum offered no apologies Tuesday for a controversial speech he gave in 2008 when he talked about the threat of Satan in America.

“I’m a person of faith. I believe in good and evil,” Santorum said in response to questions from CNN.

Instead the rising GOP contender defended his four-year-old remarks, made at Ave Maria University in Florida, where he said Satan was “attacking the great institutions of America.”

“If somehow or another because you’re a person of faith and you believe in good and evil is a disqualifier for president, we’re going to have a very small pool of candidates who can run for president,” Santorum said.

Excerpts of Santorum’s speech were splashed across the conservative leaning Drudge Report for much of Tuesday.

Santorum dismissed the Drudge article as “absurd...” Full text:
Santorum: 'I believe in good and evil'

Drudge put the Santorum/Satan story above the fold--for The Drudge Report Should it have been his lead story? Drudge must be a Romney guy.

Response to comment [from an atheist]:  "There's a difference between "believing in good and evil" and believing "Satan is attacking the great institutions of America", which he didn't bother denying.  The guy's a loon."

Who? Drudge? He gives Romney a pass on religion but he doesn't give Santorum a pass. Freedom of/from religion works for all candidates or no candidates if you are a journalist. Drudge is free to love Romney, an antichrist. Just be honest. Is Drudge a journalist or is he a commentator?

Response to comment [from a Christian]: [Santorum] "...I doubt he believes any of that drivel except in the most abstract and ideological of ways."

You want to make this about Santorum. Fine (Jn 3:8). Do you believe in freedom of religion?

"...And all the [R]epublican candidates have to do it these days, because the [R]epublican party has essentially lost it's mind..."

No argument here. I do not support Santorum (although his statement about Satan's strategy is correct and a broken clock is right twice a day) and I do not support the RePublican (Enyart) party.

"I don't give a rat's behind behind about [D]rudge..."

I think we should put unflattering photos of him up at TOL.

"...The story here is Santorum..."

Does Santorum has the right to worship freely (and I am no Santorum fan)?

"...[A] guy who wants to be [P]resident but believes there is a real demon working against us..."

There are many forces working against you (Eph 6:12).

Did you put Obama through the ringer like this? How 'bout that whole Rev. Wright thing? See any danger in that theology?

[Santorum] "Who knows what is going on in that mind of his. From all the signs, I think he fits in nicely with his lunatic base..."

He is a lunatic. But he's our lunatic.

"Why don't we let his own words speak for themselves...[link]...[I]f he wants to run for [P]resident, he should expect for us to figure out what makes him tick. It does not look good."

You Lefties are all about religious freedom--as long as that religion is secular humanism.

"...[A mind boggingly large percentage of Americans still think Obama is Muslim..."

I don't know what he is. I only know he's an antichrist (not the antichrist, an antichrist).

Understand the spirit of antichrist (
1 Jn 4:2-6).

[Our lunatic. ] "Please keep your lunatics off the lawn. That goes double for the White House lawn."

Our side is happy as long as he's not on all fours eating the grass on the White House lawn (Dan 4:33). If you have a pulse you get the G.O.P. nomination.
