Gentlemen only ladies forbidden
[Masters 2012: Politicians Say
Augusta National Golf Club Should Allow Women To Join by By Ariel Edwards-Levy (gotta

"Bipartisan agreement can be rare in Washington, but politicians from both
parties are coming out in favor of allowing women to join the all-male August
National Golf Club, home of the annual Masters Tournament.
"Don't you think it's time Augusta National joined the 21st century - or the
20th - and allowed women members?" Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) tweeted Friday.
Republicans candidates Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich also said they believe that
women should be allowed to join. The GOP hopefuls' comments came after the Obama
administration addressed the issue Thursday.
"He believes, his personal opinion is, that women should be admitted," White
House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters. "We are kind of long past the
time when women should be excluded from anything..."
Masters 2012: Politicians Say Augusta National Golf Club Should Allow Women To
Join
Should Augusta be allowed to keep their club all male (except for wives of
members who are allowed in)? Must women
include themselves in all things men do?
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "Fashionable ladies desire those chic green jackets."

Response to comment [from a Christian]: "I don't see women on Club Football teams either."
Oh but they
try. There is a young, female hockey player who shows up to practice with the
AAA boys once in a while.
For some reason the coach lets her join them.
First, she's too cute so they get distracted and cannot concentrate on their
drills.
Second, she can't do the drills herself and it slows everything down.
Third, they don't care because they are watching her the whole time.
Sometimes, these things just don't work.
Men are men and women are women. It's ok.

Response to comment [from a Catholic]: "...[A] woman can't keep up with men on a Club Football team. Until about 13 years, however, there's no reason a girl can't play as well as a boy. My oldest daughter played on a boy's team, and was one of the better players. It was hard for her to realize that guys she could easily beat at 10, were better than she was by the time they were 15."
It is tough for
girls.
It's great that your daughter could keep up with the boys for that long. She
sounds like a tough cookie.
But there does come that day when the boys pull away from them.

"Golf? C'mon. But sure, it's their club. What fun is a club if you can't
exclude other people? Do you have the right to do things that are wrong, so long
as you don't impose on other people? Sure you do."
It's not wrong. Men are permitted to enjoy things without women. Should women hang out in smoking lounges, too? Love Demi Moore on the cover of Cigar Aficionado. That's very attractive (Pr 31).
"I suppose that there are many people who join country clubs who don't enjoy or even think much about the exclusivity. If that's you, then it doesn't apply to you."
Should clubs
hire thought police? Should members be required to fill out a form: Do you value
equality or freedom? Do you believe men and women are the same or different?
