Gibbs: Death Panels
[From Politico Whiteboard] "Gibbs argued that the
“end-of-life” consultations that were removed from an administration
policy after talk of “death panels” shouldn’t be a “partisan issue.” The
provision was deleted, he said, because the public should have had
“discussion” and “debate” on it, he said..."

"We know we spend a huge amount of money that last year of life. More
and more people are gonna say, I don't want people poking tubes, and,
you know, uh, doing all sorts of...stuff. The most important thing we
can do on end-of-life care right now: to
encourage people to look at hospices as a...legitimate option (Obama,
15Jul09)."
Was Palin right to challenge death panels?
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "What are "death panels?"
Encouraging grandma to release the break on her
wheelchair and head toward the highway. Obama brought this up as a
cost-cutting measure. Why do you think people are talking about it? Why
do you think Gibbs brought it up?
"End of life care and counseling is important."
So is living (Jn 10:10).

Cor. 4:11–18; Phil. 1:29; Phil. 2:27–30; Phil. 3:10; Col. 1:24;
2 Thess. 1:4, 5; 2 Tim. 2:12; Jas. 5:10; 1 Pet. 4:13, 14; 1
Pet. 5:10.
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "You have to ask?...The so-called death panels boiled down to assisting elderly poor people to formalize their end-of-life medical wishes..."
Do you want your end of life decisions decided by godless, liberal leftists? Eccl 10:2.
"...[E]ssentially Palin attacked the right of poor elderly people to make end-of-life choices about their medical care."
Why should government be involved in these decisions at all? Is it the role of government to come between you and your doctor? You and your family? Who makes better decisions--those who love you or those who calculate the cost of keeping you alive? Jn 10:10.
"That's what conservatives are all about-- vicious lies and depriving poor elderly people of their wishes."
How are conservatives doing this?
"Any politician who used the "death panel" meme should be whipped naked in the streets -- and deprived of a living will..."
Do people have living wills now? Why do you think death panels were added? Why were they removed?
