Glenn Beck: love him or hate him?
Love his staff of researchers. Hate his theology.
Agnostic on the chalkboard (drawings are often in error [e.g. Socialists and
Commies
belong on the left.
Eccl 10:2).
Response to comment [from a Catholic]: "[N]ow that is unique."
He's had Jonah Goldberg on the show who has written about this. I'm not sure why he doesn't challenge Beck. :idunno:
"Jonah Goldberg reminds us that the original fascists
were really on the Left, and that liberals from Woodrow Wilson to FDR to Hillary
Clinton have advocated policies and principles remarkably similar to those of
Hitler's National Socialism and Mussolini's Fascism.
Contrary to what most people think, the Nazis were ardent socialists (hence the
term "National Socialism"). They believed in free health care and guaranteed
jobs. They confiscated inherited wealth and spent vast sums on public education.
They purged the church from public policy, promoted a new form of pagan
spirituality, and inserted the authority of the state into every nook and cranny
of daily life. The Nazis declared war on smoking, supported abortion,
euthanasia, and gun control. They loathed the free market, provided generous
pensions for the elderly, and maintained a strict racial quota system in their
universities--where campus speech codes were all the rage. The Nazis led the
world in organic farming and alternative medicine. Hitler was a strict
vegetarian, and Himmler was an animal rights activist... (Sleeve of his book,
Liberal Fascism by Jonah Goldberg)."
He also calls Alan Keyes a crazy right-wing "birther", then puts his picture on the chalkboard on the left near the actual leftist crazies. Beck is a libertarian (an immoral conservative [Enyart]).
"[S]o who would you replace him with?"
John MacArthur, Ken Ham, Charles Stanley?
"[W]hy haven't I heard of them?"
Kay Arthur, Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer?
"I don't think he is a trustworthy person. I couldn't depend on him to set aside his personal motives or feelings to tell the truth on any particular subject."
He isn't trustworthy. He is not a Christian indwelled with
the presence of the Holy Spirit (Isa
11:2;
40:13,14).
I wouldn't trust him as far as I could through him.
It seems when you listen to his broadcast, that he's moments away from telling
you to gather up cans to store in your basement.
We don't trust in Campbells. We trust in the Lord (Ps
115:11).
...and I don't like to see grown men cry on camera.
Response to comment [from an atheist]: "See that Muslim over there, the
swarthy, bearded fellow, sharpening that really long knife? He tells me he
has no desire whatsoever to use it on you, SD.
Do you believe him? After all, he isn't threatening you. He's just
sharpening his really long knife...and smiling..."
I only regret I have but one head to saw off for my country.
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "Glenn Beck's spiritual values are Mormon; his philosophical values square with Ayn Rand, a Russian anti-Christian materialist! Beck, not being a genuine Christian, therefore falls short of giving a Christian answer or remedy to our national woes; no matter how affectively he communicates the state of our national woes. IOW's, Glenn Beck is only another T.V. personality and does not have the answers to the tribulations that are coming upon our world!"
:thumb: Well said. :jump: Let's do O'Reilly next. :AoO:
