God's Mark of Ownership

Response to comment [from a Christian]:  "The mark of God's ownership is the Holy Spirit. The only ones that have this mark are the ones that have been bought by the blood of Christ.

Here are the things that show evidence of the Holy Spirit.

1. Has the truth of the Gospel, John 16:13.

2. Does not exalt him or herself, John 16:13.

3. Glorifies Christ and His Gospel, John 16:14

4. Reveals Christ and His Gospel, John 16:15.

5. Testifies of Christ, John 15:26.

6. Understands the things of Christ, John 14:26.

7. Bears fruit, John 15:8.

There are some on the Forum that have the Holy Spirit, but not many. In the judgment God will recognize those that have his mark and they will enter into eternal life with him."

A lot of people believe they are Christians when they are not. They should examine themselves to see if they are in the faith (2 Co 13:5).

We examine fruits (Jn 15:8).

"Right!  There will be many in the "Lord, Lord, didn't we" group, Matthew 7:22.  They seem to think that it is all about them."

Yes, people tend to think that their good deeds must outweigh their bad deeds. Yet, we are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast (Eph 2:8-9).

The Lord, Lord, didn't we group believe that they are saved. Even if they have come out of false teaching (e.g. The Roman Catholic Church ), an intellection ascension to the facts of the true gospel does not save.

You cannot have a come in savior and a stay out Lord (Rogers). Is he Lord of your life? Has he taken the reigns so to speak? Are you growing in: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control? Ga 5:22-23. Or, is your life marked by: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like? Ga 5:19-21.

We are fruit inspectors (Mt 7:20, McGee).
