Atheists are lavishing tens of thousands of dollars on a crusade to show the world that God and goodness are not connected.

During the last Christmas season, the American Humanist Association emblazoned buses in Washington, D.C., with an atheist message, visible as they carried people up and down the streets of the U.S. capital. Echoing a popular holiday song, the signs cried, “Why believe in a god? Just be good for goodness’ sake.” Meanwhile, some London buses recently carried the message, “There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.”

The AHA claims that humanism “affirms our responsibility to lead ethical lives of value to self and humanity.” But how does one define “good”—and what is right and wrong? One person’s “good” may be another man’s evil. Only God’s Word, the Bible, establishes the rock-solid basis for goodness.
