How 'bout that competence?
I thought he was going to heal the planet.
"This was the moment when
the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal (Barack
Obama)."
Response to comment [from a pagan]: "What is it you are expecting Obama to do?...[W]hat do you think any president would be able to do?"
Problem is, he is totally incompetent. When you elect without leader who has no leadership skills, don't be surprised if he cannot keep those lofty campaign promises.
Bush was raked over the coals over Katrina and it ends up that Obama's response to his "Katrina" was unquestionably inferior (and I'm no George Bush fan).
Response to comment [from a "Christian"]: "You didn't answer the question. What do you think Obama should have done?"
An excerpt from the Glenn Beck program 5 May 2010:
"In the fallout of the Exxon Valdez spill, the Oil Pollution Act of 1990
required that oil spill technology be on hand before a crisis. Furthermore, a
1994 response plan specifically for Gulf oil spills outlined how to contain
spills far before any oil hits land. One recommendation: it's called the fire
boom.
Have you heard the fire boom thing? This is how it works: little boat takes that
thing, corrals all the oil and then they set the oil on fire. That's how you do
it. You burn the oil right off the top of the water.
This was a government plan. It specifically recommends the government have fire
booms on hand to stop these spills.
Well, the government didn't have any fire booms. Eight days after the explosion,
the Obama administration scrambled to buy the only fire boom they could find.
Question number one: why are they trying to buy a fire boom, you know, when in
1994, the response plans, we should have them. Why are we -- why is our
government buying one eight days after? Why?
And they asked the country to go around trolling around the globe to see if --
you know, hey, Puerto Rico, do you have any fire booms we could borrow? That's
question number three. Has the greatest nation on the face of the Earth been
reduced to got any spare change guy that you see, you know? Is that what we are
now?
So, they didn't follow their own recommendation..." Crime Incorporated:
