How and why do you know you're one of the elect?

If you choose to repent and believe, you are one of God's elect.

"Don't be afraid!" he said. "I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people (
Lk 2:10).

Does God Elect Everyone?

Response to comment [from : "Where does the Bible say that?"

Believe in the original language means "to be convinced".

Believe

Response to comment [from a Christian]: "As I said, only God knows His elect. I can be reasonably certain, in that I know my desire is for God, but I allow for the possibility of delusion, as I cannot know my own heart."

1 Jn 5:13

Response to comment [from other]: "...I have also seen the question of whether or not "unbelief" is a sin..."

Yes (Jn 16:9).

Response to comment [from a Christian]: "What we have here is some very angry Calvinists..."

What do they care? Mt 5:22

"...[T]here's only one here who knows what [he's] talking about. Take a guess who it is? It's not me I'm talking about..."

It's SOD.

Response to comment [from a Christian]: "As Christian believers we were not chosen before the foundation of the world. That's a Calvinistic misinterpretation of Scripture. Calvinism changes the character and intent of the true God into a man made perception. It's a human philosophical belief system not found in the Scripture..."

God has a plan. He is calling out a people for his namesake. Psa. 111:9; Psa. 130:7; Matt. 20:28 Mark 10:45. Luke 2:38; Acts 20:28; Rom. 3:24–26; 1 Cor. 1:30; 1 Cor. 6:20; 1 Cor. 7:23; Gal. 1:4; Gal. 2:20; Gal. 4:4, 5; Eph. 1:7; Eph. 5:2; Col. 1:14, 20–22; 1 Tim. 2:6; Tit. 2:14; Heb. 9:12, 15; 1 Pet. 1:18, 19; Rev. 5:9, 10.

"Do you adhere to the doctrine of election as put forth from the proponents of Calvinism?"

No. You are correct when you say: "Calvinism changes the character and intent of the true God into a man made perception."

You'd better get POTD for this or I will protest.

What is POTD?

Post of the Day.

"Yep."

It's not rocket science. I love to say that to my rocket scientist friend. Too bad I don't know a brain surgeon.
