I'm just here to offset Cruciform

Response to comment [from a Catholic]: "I'm a cafeteria not-really-Catholic."

Cruciform insists on being judged by his works--so he will be (Is 64:6).  All men receive justice or mercy.  He chooses the former (Jude 11, Re 20:11).  Christians will appear at the Bema seat (1 Cor 3:12).

"...[A] concept held by many...is I'm not good enough now to live with God, but if I just work a little harder, I'm sure that one day I will arrive--by loving my neighbor and doing the best I can.

"...[This view] ignores the atonement of Jesus Christ and his perfect righteousness.  By His death He once and for all takes away all of our sin, and by His perfect obedience in this life He clothes us with His righteousness so that we are instantly made perfect to stand in the presence of God through the righteousness of Christ alone." Kennedy, pg. 170.

Response to comment [from a Catholic]: [Cruciform] "... I like his passion and his complete and utter lack of hypocrisy, his determined faithfulness and am quite sure in his soul he is far, and I mean far, superior to me."

He is, too. Pr 6:16,17; 16:5

Response to comment [from a Christian]: "And for Cruciform- while his form can be abrasive, his love of Christ is unquestioned..."

He despises the Word of God (Isa 30:12).

Response to comment [from a Christian]: "Brother, we cannot win Romans back to Christ by condemning them as much as they condemn us Luke 6:37."

Read on to Lk 6:38. We are to judge righteously (Pr 31:9). You don't need to compliment modern-day Pharisees (Mt 15:9), Lefty (Eccl 10:2).
