The inquisitive monkey, Charlie, and his best pal, Trike, join kids on a memorable adventure, as they experience the new “Knee-High” exhibits displayed throughout the Creation Museum.
Young children absorb information like a sponge absorbs water. They soak in whatever is set before their eyes, ears, or hands, whether bad or good, false or true. A new Kneehigh Museum has been designed to engage the minds (and hands) of 5- to 12-year-olds so that they can absorb solid truths on which to build their thinking for a lifetime.
The Kneehigh Museum is a series of fun, hands-on exhibits displayed throughout the 70,000 square foot Creation Museum located near Cincinnati, Ohio. The first three kid-size exhibits open in January 2010.
Along the way, kids discover the truth with the help of two colorful new characters—the ever-curious monkey, Charlie, and his wise friend, Trike the triceratops.
Cave Adventure Do real rocks glow in the dark? In the special walk-through cave at the Creation Museum, children will now discover real fluorescent rocks and learn that God designed them to glow under ultraviolet light. They also learn that scorpions glow, snakes were originally vegetarian, and tarantulas make a hairy meal.
Talk to Noah Who wouldn’t want to talk to Noah? At one of the new Kneehigh Museum displays, a lifelike animatronic Noah gladly answers the questions kids can ask on a touchscreen monitor. For example, if they ask, “How did you get all the animals to the Ark?” Noah explains that God sent the animals to him (Genesis 6:20).
Fossil Fun When it comes to fossils, it’s not hard to spark a child’s curiosity. When they touch a real fossil, it’s easy to imagine living with dinosaurs. Kids can now race their friends to find the fossils hidden throughout the museum’s rock wall in the dig site. Then they can stop to make a dinosaur rubbing at the new Fossil Fun exhibit.
After a day of great memories, children can take home their “works of art” and a reminder from the Bible that God created all land animals, including dinosaurs, on the same day that He created humans.
