Let me be clear as mud
"Obama's 17-minute, 2,500-word response to woman's claim of being 'over-taxed'...
...Toward the end of a
question-and-answer session with workers at an advanced battery technology
manufacturer, a woman named Doris stood to ask the president whether it was a
"wise decision to add more taxes to us with the health care" package.
"We are over-taxed as it is," Doris said bluntly.
Obama started out feisty. "Well, let's talk about that, because this is an area
where there's been just a whole lot of misinformation, and I'm going to have to
work hard over the next several months to clean up a lot of the misapprehensions
that people have," the president said.
He then spent the next 17 minutes and 12 seconds lulling the crowd into a daze.
His discursive answer - more than 2,500 words long -- wandered from topic to
topic, including commentary on the deficit, pay-as-you-go rules passed by
Congress, Congressional Budget Office reports on Medicare waste, COBRA coverage,
the Recovery Act and Federal Medical Assistance Percentages (he referred to this
last item by its inside-the-Beltway name, "F-Map"). He talked about the notion
of eliminating foreign aid (not worth it, he said). He invoked Warren Buffett,
earmarks and the payroll tax that funds Medicare (referring to it, in fluent
Washington lingo, as "FICA")..." Full text:

Is Obama's overuse of "Let me be clear..." his tell? Can you ever get a truthful answer from the man?
"Let your yes be yes; and your no, no (James 5:12)."
...or Lie to the infidel (Al-Taqiyya). Prov 22:6.
Response to comment [from an agnostic]: "So in other words you prefer it if, rather than a reasoned, detailed answer..."
I prefer a straight forward answer to a straight forward question. You don't?
"...[W]hat undeniably is an extremely complex issue?"
What is complex about "Thou shall not steal (Ex 20:15)"? (1 Kin. 12:1–19; Neh. 5:1–13; Neh. 9:36, 37).
Response to comment [from an agnostic]: "Do you think 'Doris' would have been satisfied if Obama just said "Yes, it is a good idea. Next!". Of course not."
Righteous people want to hear the truth (Ps 119:97). Wicked people want to hear lies (Eze 13:19, Mal 6:11). Obama must answer a simple question with 2500 words to appeal to people's covetousness (Ex 20:11).
"...[T]he economy is a very complicated thing..."
History proves that lowing taxes improves the economy.
"I'm assuming you're not autistic, so you should be able to understand that other people think differently to you."
Truth is truth independent from me (Jn 14:6). What do you have against autistic people? Are they next on the "healthcare" chopping block?
"Healthcare Act"
Let's be clear --It is healthcare take over. It is socialism.
Response to comment [from a Catholic]: "As commentators have noted, it was a long, rambling response that avoided answering the question. In other words, an obfuscation."
Exactly. How 'bout those White Sox?
Response to comment [from an agnostic]: "The question...was whether it was a wise idea to add more taxes with the health care program..."
We don't want the healthcare take over and socialism in America (Ex 20:15).
"Obama thinks it is, and explained why."
Well--it must be right.
[History proves that lowing taxes improves the economy.] "FDR would beg to differ."
I said history not FDR (the Grand Pooba of progressivism).
[What do you have against autistic people? Are they next on the "healthcare" chopping block?] "Ah, I see... Well, this certainly explains a lot."
And you accuse me of not answering questions?
[It is healthcare take over. It is socialism.] "Whatever. I notice for all your talk of obfuscating the question you haven't actually addressed the question here. In any case, I live in Britain and so get to benefit from one of our country's greatest institutions, the NHS. That was a real healthcare takeover and it's worked brilliantly."
I'm sure all those dead people would agree with you.
"Why do you think that anybody who supports the call-it-what-you-will actively believes it to be theft?"
Your culture is dead (it may have something to do with those bones under Westminster Abbey) and we are on life support. I call it theft because it is theft (Ex 20:15).

Response to comment [from an agnostic]: [We don't want the healthcare take over and socialism in America (Ex 20:15).] "What do you mean by 'we'?"
We, Americans. Socialism violates God's Commandment 'Thou shall not steal (Ex 20:15).
"Obama got voted in with healthcare reforms as one of his electoral points."
He's awfully charming , but we do not all agree with him.
"You don't agree with his reasoning. So what? You're both entitled to your own opinions."
True. However, he took an oath to uphold the Constitution. He is violating it (surprise, surprise). Don't blame me. I voted for the American.
"What I'm objecting to is not the fact you disagree with the Heathcare Act[,] but the fact you seem to see giving a detailed answer to a complex question as a bad thing."
Thou shall not steal (Ex 20:15) is pretty clear.
"Statistical evidence shows a significant improvement in the US economy during FDR's presidency."
Statistical evidence shows improvement to the economy under the administrations of JFK and Reagan.
See:
JFK's Supply-Side Tax Cut.
Abstract: "The article focuses on the 1977 congressional testimony by Walter Heller, chief economist of former U.S. President John F. Kennedy, on the effects of the tax cut proposed by the president in 1963, cited by former Reagan administration official Arthur Laffer in response to criticism in the book "The Big Con," by Jonathan Chait. Other statistics cited by Laffer to defend pro-growth tax cuts are mentioned. Heller notes the stimulative effect of the tax cuts on the economy." "JFK's Supply-Side Tax Cut." "I have nothing against autistic people, indeed some of my friends and relatives have various manifestations of the disorder..."
Is that like "Some of my best friends are black."
"Because atheists don't believe the Bible is true, quoting it at them is going to have as much of an effect as a Muslim trying to convert you by reading you the Qu'ran..."
The Bible is the word of God (Lu 11:28; Heb 4:12) and the source of truth (Jas 1:18). Where do you get your truth? From a box of Cracker Jacks?
[Great British healthcare :rotfl:...I'm sure all those dead people :dead: would agree with you.] "The majority of the UK population certainly would."
"Markets are very good at providing an array of choice when it comes to cornflakes or hair conditioner. But they are lousy at presenting the big choices, such as a more preventative healthcare system, better working conditions or new transport solutions..." Reeves, Richard. "'We are faced with a tyranny of small decisions; choices that turn out to be double-edged swords'." 29-31. New Statesman Ltd., 2003. MasterFILE Elite. EBSCO. Web. 10 Apr. 2010.
"'Your culture is dead'? What does that even mean?"
Britain was headed downward just about the time Darwin was buried on their soil. We are just a step behind.
I recently took a stroll along Cromwell street and saw a large crowd gathering at the Natural History Museum for the Darwin Exhibit in London. Too bad so many still believe lies that go back to Aristotle.
"Charles Darwin was not the first to come up with the theory of evolution. Aristotle and others toyed with the idea of evolution. Darwin sought to explain all of life without God..." Full text: Can an Intellectual Believe in God?
"What particular point on the page did you want me to look at? All it seemed to me to be was a string of assertions where the author says that they think that healthcare provision is stealing. There's no substantiation."
That is my position--Government takeover of healthcare is theft. Socialism violates God's Commandment "Thou shall not steal (Ex 20:15)." You disagree. Fine.

Response to comment [from "There have been circumstances in which tax increases have helped..."
"During the 1920s, The Revenue Acts of 1921, 1924, and 1926 reduced the top marginal income tax rate from 73% to 25% (see top chart, blue line). Did the drastic cut in tax rates cause tax revenues to fall? No, just the opposite. Personal income tax revenues increased substantially during the 1920s, rising from $719 million in 1921 to $1.16 billion in 1928..." Full text: The Laffer Curve in the 20s
