Archaeologists in Peru claim that they have uncovered the oldest known urban settlement in the Americas.^* The ruins, known as Sechin Bajo, were carbon dated at about 3500 BC. They are considered a major discovery because they reveal the amazing sophistication of ancient American civilizations. One archaeologist declared that “whoever built Sechin Bajo had a good knowledge of architecture and construction.”

While these dates are not quite accurate, the discovery of sophisticated early builders is what we’d expect from Noah’s highly intelligent descendants, who left the Tower of Babel (about 2200 BC).
