Pope Seeks to Unite Christianity
[Pope Seeks to Unite Christianity Proclaiming the Gospel Ministries]: "Pope Benedict said Christian unity requires more than "cordiality and cooperation" and it must be accompanied by interior conversion. "Faith in Christ and interior conversion, both individual and communal, must constantly accompany our prayer for Christian unity," said the Pope to over 8,000 pilgrims gathered in the Vatican on Jan. 18. His comments mark the start of the 2012 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. It will be observed by over 300 Christian churches and ecclesial communities around the globe. Ecumenism, the Pope stated, is not an optional extra for Catholics but is "the responsibility of the entire Church and of all the baptized." Christians, he said, must make praying for unity an "integral part" of their prayer life, "especially when people from different traditions come together to work for victory in Christ over sin, evil, injustice and the violation of human dignity." expectation of that glorious day when together we will all be able to celebrate the Sacraments and profess the faith transmitted by the Apostles." Response to comment [from a Christian]: "But like usual, he wants to unite Christianity... only if it is led by the RCC. I'd like to see him step down and unite with say.. American Baptists..."
We are happy to unite when he repents (Ga 1:6-8, Mt 15:9, Eph 4:14).

Response to comment [from other]: "Will you put your anti-Catholic cut-and-pastes in the religion forums instead, please?"
I'm not
anti-Catholic.
If I were anti-Catholic, I wouldn't bother telling Catholics the truth (2
Tim. 2:15; Jas.
1:18).

Response to comment [from an
atheist]: [Pope repenting] "You are aware that he'll never repent, yes?"
Of course I am silly. But we must go through the motions (Isa 55:11). Who would even think of such a thing? You--that's who. Never let it be said that you don't think big. And here I thought you were like Jonah.
[Going though the motions] "Why must we "go through the motions", if we know that doing so will yield no results?"
An atheistic Calvinist. We share the word of God with others (1 Co 9:17). What men do with it is their business (Ps. 118:22).
