Poverty increasing
[One in seven Americans is living in poverty, Census
shows By Carol Morello] "One in seven Americans is living in poverty, the
highest number in the half-century that the government has kept such statistics,
the Census Bureau announced Thursday.
Last year was the third consecutive year that the poverty rate climbed, in part
because of the recession, rising from 13.2 percent in 2008 to 14.3 percent, or
43.6 million people, last year..." Full text:

How's the American experiment coming along? "There was once a dream that was
Rome. You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it would
vanish... it was so fragile..." [Gladiator movie, Marcus Aurelius]
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "Under Obama, poverty is going up precisely because corporate greed is being given priority over our lives."
Poverty is increasing (highest in 50 some years) because of Obama's policies. You aren't ready to ditch class envy (e.g. covetousness Pr 28:22) yet? It's burdening families. Liberals never think of the consequences of their actions.
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "I'm really curious about how during Bush's headfirst spiral downward into US deficit, debt, job loss, recession, so on, it was all Clinton's fault... Yet as soon as Obama is in office, it's all his fault. How does that work?"
It's hard to build a country up but it's easy to tear it
down (e.g. 9/11). "Liberals spread misery quickly (Enyart)."
You're right that Bush spent irresponsibly.
Obama is continuing that trend on steroids.
"America is "not a representative republic anymore. It is a soft tyranny
(Levine)."
"Obama "is like a wrecking ball going through every institution of America
(Savage)."
Media Matters is good for something.
"Obama Added More to National Debt in First 19 Months Than All Presidents from
Washington Through Reagan Combined, Says Gov’t Data"
...
Obama says:
"We have to finish the plan you elected me to put in place...It's not the
man, it's the
plan."
People no longer have confidence.
Response to comment [from a Catholic}: "Republican[s]...'maybe we can blame all this on the democrats.'"
As Rick Santelli puts it (I paraphrase)--when you are going on safari and find yourself in quicksand, you don't ask, "Who wrote this map?" You're sinking!
