Protecting Loved Ones

Response to comment [from a Christian]: Under the New Testament, is it wrong to stand up for a loved one. That is, if they are under a threat.
Example: A man hits your wife, from that point (biblically) what should you do? (Under New Covenant)[.]  Please back up statements with scripture."

Jesus took a lot of guff and responded peacefully but when men dishonored his dad, he wouldn't take it (Jn 2:15).

Yes, we should defend our loved ones and strangers. We are permitted to use reasonable force against villains.
