Putin Set to Re-Emerge as the Czar of Russia
[Putin Set to
Re-Emerge as the Czar of Russia by Joel Rosenberg] "...Will run for President
March 4, 2012...On August 17th – in a column entitled, “Putin Rising: But Is He
Gog?” — I wrote that “after keeping a relatively low profile for the last
several years, Vladimir Putin is rising. In recent weeks, the Russian leader —
currently serving as his country’s prime minister — once again has been making
headlines, stoking controversy, and seeming to position himself to run for
president of Russia again in March 2012.”
Now it’s official. Putin is officially running in the March 4th elections. The
announcement came over the weekend and, barring unforeseen circumstances, should
win in a landslide. His anti-American, anti-Western “tough guy” image of
crushing the Chechens, and the Georgians, and building a vibrant economy through
Russia’s oil and natural gas industries, and building strategic alliances with
radical Islamic allies such as Iran has played well and made him very popular
throughout Russia’s eleven time zones. Putin is counting on such support to
allow him to emerge as the next Czar of Russia for many years to come. Reuters
notes that “the next president will be elected for six years and the
constitution still allows the head of state a maximum of two straight terms —
meaning Putin could be in power for another 12 years.”
The re-emergence of Putin as Russia’s central tyrant will re-stoke speculation
that we are heading towards the “War of Gog and Magog”as prophesied in the Bible
in Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39. Many evangelical Christians believe we are, in
part because the prophecies of Ezekiel 36 and 37 have already come true
regarding the dramatic rebirth of the State of Israel and Jews coming back to
the Holy Land in the last days after centuries of exile. And Putin strikes many
as far closer to the image of the evil dictator “Gog” described in the prophecy
than the current President Dmitry Medvedev. A growing number of Jews also
believe Ezekiel 38 and 39 could come true in our lifetime, and possibly in the
next few years. In June of 2010, for example, a group of Rabbis in Israel said
current events seemed to be leading to the “War of Gog and Magog.”
While it is still too early to say such prophecies will be fulfilled soon, the
rise of Putin — combined with Russia’s increasingly close ties to Iran, Libya,
Turkey, Central Asia and other countries described by Ezekiel – certainly
doesn’t bode well for the State of Israel or the Jewish people..." Full text:

Response to comment [from other]: "And he's very good at Judo..."
No, he's not.
"He has a black belt and, from the Youtube vids I saw a couple of years ago, he deserves it."
Choreographed. He's not a good treasure hunter either. Was the "treasure" planted 4 feet off shore?

That is correct. The rules were so easy.
Response to comment [from an

"THE IMPALER" Putin IZ GOG OF MAGOG!"
That was the question.
"And the answer to that question is a most emphatic "no", period, full stop, do not pass "Go", do not collect $200.00."

"That's the problem with prophecy: if
a person can know the future, a person can change it."
Don't confuse God's determined will with his permissive
will. You can't change the coming of leader who will fight the final battle (Rev.
20:8–15) but you can change your future (2
Pe 3:9).

"So if it is God's determined will that a particular Leader X will amass an army and march on Israel, no action of any kind will prevent that outcome?"
History future is settled. How it happens can vary. There will be a narcissistic Russian to fit the bill in every generation.
"Bullets aimed at Gog of Magog will inexplicably miss, even if fired from
point-blank range?"
I don't know
anything about inop bullets. Arrows have been redirected in the past.
[The Forgotten Prophet and a God-Aimed Arrow 1 Kings 22: Thru the Bible] "Modern
tracking technology makes it possible for missiles to reach their targets with
pinpoint accuracy, but in ancient times arrows had no tracking technology. That
is, until God guided the flight of a randomly-shot arrow to fulfill His
prophetic word in the life of a king who mocked Him..."
And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel
between the joints of the harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his
chariot, Turn thine hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.
And the battle increased that day: and the king was stayed up in his chariot
against the Syrians, and died at even: and the blood ran out of the wound into
the midst of the chariot [1 Kings 22:34–35].
"Ahab was not slain by a soldier that aimed at him. The king was not a target,
and the soldier did not shoot at Ahab—yet that arrow found him. You might say it
was the first guided missile. I imagine that he was just an ordinary soldier
with one last arrow left in his quiver. He pulled it out, put it in his bow, and
simply let it go. He didn’t know where it was going. Ahab’s death would have to
be listed as accidental, but in God’s record it was providential: that arrow was
aimed.
And you know, God still uses a very crude form of weapon—He’s still back in the
bow and arrow days. In Psalm 64:7, we read: “But God shall shoot at them with an
arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.” There are those today who think they
have escaped the hand of God. But I want to tell you that God has an arrow with
your name on it; it will find you one of these days. No matter how much you try
to deceive and cover up, that arrow will find you. That is what happened to
Ahab." McGee, J. Vernon: Thru the Bible Commentary. electronic ed. Nashville :

"Otherwise you'd have kept your ignorance to yourself instead of flapping your gums (once again) about something you clearly know nothing about. Here's a picture of Vladimir Putin taking ippon at the Kodokan Institute, the internationally recognized home of Judo. The guy is obviously more than competent."
He's competent in all he does. Treasure hunting, too.

I'm grateful
that I am not omniscient.
Are you still waiting for that call?
Who got you to believe in [modern] mysticism (communion with God without
reason)?
God is a rational being. Only through rational thought can we approach him (Isa
1:18). You're going to have to use your brain
and it is difficult (Mt
7:14). When your mind disengages worship stops
(Ferguson). Ask Cruciform. He knows all about this.
