Sarah Palin Wades into Arizona Basketball Trip Debate
"(NewsCore) - Former Alaska governor and 2008
Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin Wednesday night waded into the
debate concerning a Chicago-area high school’s decision to cancel a girl’s
basketball team trip to Arizona on account of the state’s new immigration law.
Addressing a crowd of 4,000 in Rosemont, Ill., Palin ridiculed the decision by
Highland Park High School to cancel its participation in a December basketball
tournament, saying that "an economic and political boycott of one of our sister

suspect they are in the U.S. illegally.
The decision by the Highland Park High School to cancel the girls' participation
in the tournament has been debated on conservative talk shows and talk radio.
Palin noted that the school is still sponsoring a trip to China by saying "You
know how they treat girls in China? It makes no sense. Even if they have to do
this on our own. ... If the kids have to 'Go Rogue' girls."
The school district assistant superintendent Sue Hebson has defended the
school’s decision, saying it was done for the safety of the students and not as
a political statement..."Sarah
