As evolutionary beliefs increasingly dominate our Western cultures, people turn to nature for guidance in their behavior, instead of God. This mentality is evident as humans look at animal behavior to justify human homosexual behavior. But letting the cursed animals be our guide is unwise for two major reasons:
The common evolutionary argument that tries to justify homosexual behavior with evolution could go something like this: “Homosexuality is seldom discussed as a component in evolution, but it undoubtedly plays a role. Homosexual behavior has been observed in most animal species studied, and the higher we climb on the taxonomic tree toward mammals, the more apparent homosexual behavior we see.”1
So the question becomes, “What authority will guide your morality—God’s Word or cursed animals?” God’s authoritative statements about homosexual acts in Romans 1:25–32 and 1 Corinthians 6:9–13 clearly state that homosexual behavior is sinful and that trying to justify it is trying to justify sin.
Lowering our standard of morality to that of an animal is not the way to determine right behavior. Our standard of morality must be grounded upon the infallible Word of our Creator God.
