ASC Thanks to ASC and his/her ilk
For "Trying to be civil in the face of incivility.
This is a test,"
she sure does gossip a lot. Does she rebuke the cults and 'isms or just
Christians who stand for the word of God? "Gossipers often have the goal
of
building themselves up by making others look bad...
...[A] group who were (and still are today) known for indulging in
gossip is widows. Paul cautions widows against entertaining the habit of
gossip and of being idle. These women are described as “gossips and
busybodies, saying things they ought not to” (1 Timothy 5:12-13)..."
What does the Bible say about gossip?
Response to comment [from a "Christian"]: "Is it gossip if it is in a thread for you to openly see?"
"Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss
events, small minds discuss people." ~ Eleanor Roosevelt
Response to comment [from an atheist]: "And thanks to bybee we
have another aSC thread where he can get all the attention that his
parents didn't give him."
Aren't you the performing artist? Mt 19:4, Deut 22:5.
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "How do you fasten your scarf you wily serpent?"
"Try to be civil in the face of incivility. This is a test."
I'm sure there is a better task for you at TOL besides
manners management.
Response to comment [from an atheist]: [Drag queen] "Yes, and a very talented one, what of it?"
You accused ASC of desiring attention. He/she did not start this thread. Mt 19:4, Deut 22:5.
"He intentionally behaves in a manner that commands attention. He thrives on it..."
If anyone is seeking attention in this thread it is Bybee. We were all supposed to be impressed with her supposed "...forbearance, humility, forgiveness,...tooth grinding and tongue-biting..."
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "My goal in starting this thread was to show ASC that while I rarely disagree with his foundation values, I vehemently disagree with his methodology and presentation."
We know you prefer a different style. I doubt ASC is interested in being just like you. If you have a personal problem with him, why don't you send him a personal message?
"I don't give half a rat's tail what you think."
"Try to be civil in the face of incivility. This is a test."
"I wanted some honest dialogue with ASC."
Didn't you say you were concerned with his "methodology and presentation" Ms. Manners? 2 Thess 3:11. If you dispute a theological or political point, make a case.
"I am viewed as some sort of threat. That was not my intention. Oh well, as for me, I shall continue to speak of God's love for me and thee."
The most loving thing you can do is stand behind those who stand for the word of God. You need: love, something to do, and hope. You can get all three in Jesus (Rogers). The church pews always need cleaning. Maybe that is a better role for you (2 Thess 3:11).
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "Sigh, I'm in love. I can overlook the teeth."
J. Vernon McGee always said--watch out for the super pious . They end up being the most vicious.
Response to comment [from an atheist]: "Awww, isn't that cute, aSC has fangirls..."
It sounds like you have had more dealing with ASC
than I have. I am guessing his/her problem with you might have something
to do with your
depravity.
Deut 22:5,
Mt 19:4.
Why kill the messenger?
1 Cor 6:9. Do you
think the compromisers here care about you more?
Prov 27:5. You
have an enemy who wishes to destroy you (Eph
6:11). You prefer lies?
Jer 5:31. Do you
want us to
hold your hand all the way to hell (McBurney).
[Ranting]
Bybee will be happy to make you feel pretty today.
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "...[W]hat you have to say is so much swamp gas."
"Try to be civil in the face of incivility. This is a test."
"I have cleaned the church, kitchen sink, toilets and all many times."
Get yourself a raisin cookie.
"A loss of that reward may occur to any believer who does not
discriminate fellowship on the basis of adherence to the truth (Col.
2:18,19;
3:24,25).
This is a potent warning. All the eternal (re)ward one earns by seeing
Christ purely, eagerly, and effectively in the Spirit can be diminished
by any aiding or abetting of false teaching." MacArthur, John Jr: The
MacArthur Study Bible. electronic ed. Nashville : Word Pub., 1997,

2 Jn 8.
Response to comment [from an atheist]: "...I'm prettier than you
both inside as well as outward appearance, and I don't have to shave my
mustache as often."
Vomit alert.
Response to comment [from other]: "...[Y]es, PS66, you are pretty."
"Awwww thankies!"
Vomit alert.
"You are quite beautiful yourself."
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "I've baked some nice brownies for you. They are my special recipe for those who show evidence of needing a purgative."
