The Myth of Unmerited Favor and Grace

There is no such thing as unmerited favor or unmerited grace from God. That is the doctrine of devils. God will not reward you for anything you do not deserve. God will not punish you for anything you do not deserve. God will not exalt you for anything you do not deserve. God will not praise you for anything you do not deserve. Whatsoever you sow to the flesh you shall reap of the flesh. Whatsoever you sow to the Spirit you shall reap of the Spirit.

Grace is God's unmerited favor (Ge 6:8). Salvation is a gift of God. If it's not, then God owes men something--and God owes a men nothing. If men got what they deserved, they'd go to hell. But, God is merciful (Ro 11:6).

Believers will receive rewards at the Bema seat.

Explain how you merit God's grace (1 Tim. 1:12–16).

If you don't know how to merit God's grace, then how are you ever going to continue in the grace of God as Paul and Barnabas instructed?

Stand in it (Rom. 5:2), be strong in it (2 Tim. 2:1), grow in it (2 Pet. 3:18), speak with grace (Eph. 4:29), etc.

Be careful, some people on this site will accuse you of "works salvation" for believing what the Bible says.

I am familiar with their greasy grace theories (Jude 4).

Everyone that has received God's favor has done something that pleased Him.

Did Jeffrey Dahmer please him? He got saved.

Ro 3:12

Some people say Dahmer repented of his sins. Link Other people say Dahmer was unrepentant. Link Only God knows for sure.

Still, others say he was freed from a demon. If Dahmer can get saved, any man can get saved.

It wasn't the same gospel. Paul preached the grace gospel (faith without works). Peter preached the kingdom gospel (faith and works).
