The falling away from the faith, and that man of sin is revealed in them

…[F]alse prophets and teachers were foretold to come into the world like a swarm of locusts from hell…

They are a final plague (Rev. 9:3, 7).

I believe Paul was playing off the words of Jesus when he referred to “that man” and “son of perdition” in the above verse. But this is not to be misunderstood as a being single individual man yet to come in the future like Judas, but rather it speaks of the sin nature of man (mystery of iniquity) being raised back up again in the world and embraced.

That is the antichrist (2 Thess. 2:9).

Notice how Jesus refers to a whole wicked generation as “a man” and “that man” (like Paul said).

There is one Antichrist and there have been many antichrists (1 John 2:18–22).

…[I]n Matthew 12:43-45 “When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

That is an unclean spirit (a foul spirit)—a lower order Nephilim. David killed the last of the giants. Goliath’s head may have been under the cross (Ge 3:15). The giants were satanic types.

Part of their punishment is roaming the earth looking for bodies to live in.

…[C]ompared to Peters concerning this same falling away in 2 Peter 2:20-22 “For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

They liked their demon just fine and even miss him when he’s gone. They invite more.

Many of the saints being overcome is also shown here in Revelation 13:7 “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them…

A Christian is an overcomer. He has escaped: the world, the flesh and devil. He’s going in the rapture. Tribulation saints will be overcome—two different groups of people. The so-called carnal Christian, the backslider—these are going in the tribulation.

The Lord repeatedly uses the words “they their, and them”…

Antichrist is a person and a system (2 Thess. 2:3, 7).

…[W]hat about sitting in the Temple of God? I believe Paul was speaking in a mystery when he said this…

After 3 ½ years he declares himself to be God. The Jews realize they’ve been duped and head for the wilderness where God protects them.

…[W]hosoever has “that Wicked” spirit dwelling in them, (the temple of God) him shall God also destroy. = son of perdition, or son who goes into destruction.

A Christian (an overcomer) cannot be demon-possessed because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world (1 Jn 4:4). Satan can only be in one place at one time. He is fallen angel. He can possess a person (like Judas).

One scrawny angel takes him to the lake of fire (Re 19:20). Perhaps he will pause to let us kick him in the head.

In my OP Jesus spoke of an unclean spirit and 7 other evil spirits, that enter back into mankind.

In a man. Sin has been in the world since the fall. When Israel flew her flag, you all started shaking in your boots (Mt 24:34).

Not one verse of scripture says antichrist is a single man figure. But what scripture does say is antichrist is a spirit that works in many deceivers, and has already come into the world.

Antichrist is a person and a system (2 Thess. 2:3, 7). There is one Antichrist and there have been many antichrists (1 John 2:18–22).

Jesus was speaking in a parable referring to "a man" as a whole "wicked generation" this is clear.  Matthew 12:45

Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation [Matt. 12:45].

"This same situation is with us today. The hardest people in the world are unsaved church members because they think they are all right. They have undergone self–reformation—empty, swept, and garnished. They are like a vacant house, and all the evil spirits have to do is move in. The Devil owns them, and they don’t recognize this fact. Reformation means death and destruction. Regeneration means life and liberty." McGee, J. V. (1991). Thru the Bible commentary: The Gospels (Matthew 1-13) (electronic ed., Vol. 34, p. 173). Nashville: Thomas Nelson.

"Seven other spirits more wicked than himself.—This evidently refers to a more full possession by devils,—i. e., to a voluntary and damnable self-surrender to Satan by a wicked life, or to such hardening of unbelief as that of which the Jewish hierarchy and nation were guilty.—And the last state is worse than the first.—Their former low and miserable estate is followed by moral guilt, and a voluntary surrender to the power of evil..." Lange, J. P., & Schaff, P. (2008). A commentary on the Holy Scriptures: Matthew (p. 226). Bellingham, WA: Logos Bible Software.

"seven other spirits Seven is often used as a number of completeness or totality in the Bible; here, the possession by demons involves a complete takeover of the person." Barry, J. D., Mangum, D., Brown, D. R., Heiser, M. S., Custis, M., Ritzema, E., … Bomar, D. (2012, 2016). Faithlife Study Bible (Mt 12:45). Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press.

2 Thess does mention the word antichrist, that is just a false connection many try to make.

Who is the man of sin to your mind? Who is the son of perdition to your mind?

I covered it in my first couple of posts.

Non causae ut causae Eph 4:14

...Nothing says antichrist is a man figure...

Satan can indwell a human being (as he did with Judas for God's purposes).  He will mock Jesus' resurrection in the future.

"Re 13:3 his deadly wound was healed. This statement could refer to one of the kingdoms that was destroyed and revived (i.e., the Roman Empire). But more likely it refers to a fake death and resurrection enacted by the Antichrist, as part of his lying deception. Cf. vv. 12, 14; 17:8, 11; 2 Thess. 2:9. world marveled. People in the world will be astounded and fascinated when Antichrist appears to rise from the dead. His charisma, brilliance, and attractive but deluding powers will cause the world to follow him unquestioningly (v. 14; 2 Thess. 2:8–12)." MacArthur, J., Jr. (Ed.). (1997). The MacArthur Study Bible (electronic ed., p. 2009). Nashville, TN: Word Pub.

Look into the 7 things that are an abomination to God...

Ignoratio elenchi Eph 4:14

Satan: attempts to undo God's work (Mark 4:15), makes men turn away from God (Job 2:4, 5), instigates evil (John 13:2, 27) and secures men’s worship (Luke 4:6–8; 2 Thess. 2:3, 4). Thomas Nelson Publishers. (1996). Nelson’s quick reference topical Bible index (p. 547). Nashville, TN: Thomas Nelson Publishers.

[Satan can only be in one place at one time. He is fallen angel. He can possess a person (like Judas).]  That is like saying God's Spirit can only be in one place at one time.

God is the uncreated creator.  Satan is a created being.  God is omnipresent (he can be anywhere he chooses or not be anywhere he chooses).  Satan can be at one place at one time.

Satan is an angel, which is a spirit. And we know by scripture that his spirit is in all the world...

Satan is an evil being.  Others have chosen to be like him.  He is: a deceiver (Rev. 12:9), the father of lies (John 8:44) and an adversary (1 Pet. 5:8). Thomas Nelson Publishers. (1996). Nelson’s quick reference topical Bible index (p. 547). Nashville, TN: Thomas Nelson Publishers.

Ephesians 2:2

"2:2 course of this world...This refers to the world order, i.e., humanity’s values and standards apart from God and Christ. In 2 Cor. 10:4, 5, Paul refers to these ideologies that are like fortresses in which people are imprisoned, need to be set free, and brought captive to Christ and obedience to the truth (see notes there). the prince of the power of the air. Satan. Cf. John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11; 2 Cor. 4:4." MacArthur, J., Jr. (Ed.). (1997). The MacArthur Study Bible (electronic ed., pp. 1804–1805). Nashville, TN: Word Pub.

Satan's spirit is already in the world and working in all of mankind, what is one more man? LOL

When one choses to follow Satan, it's not LOL (Re 21:4).  Satan is assigned to hell (Matt. 25:41).  Those who follow his ways go to the lake of fire, as well (Re 21:8).

The whole world already worships the Red Dragon (Satan) and the beast (self)...

Christians have overcome: the world, the flesh and the devil. They have chosen the best way--God's way (Jn 10:10). The lake of fire is reserved for: the beast (Rev. 19:20), the false prophet (Rev. 19:20), the devil (Rev. 20:10) and sinners (Rev. 21:8). Thomas Nelson Publishers. (1996). Nelson’s quick reference topical Bible index (pp. 230–231). Nashville, TN: Thomas Nelson Publishers.

...[B]y serving the lusts of the flesh = sin is self serving.

Sin leads to death (Rom. 6:23).  A man reaps what he sows (Ga 6:7).

The first man (Adam) desires the same things as Satan...

Desired.  After the fall, he wished to repent and did.  Adam was the first evangelical.

...serving the desires and lusts of the flesh = sin = mark of the scarlet colored beast.

Men can repent (Is. 1:18).  Fallen angels don't get that chance (Matt. 25:41).

No one is going anywhere until the last trump (last day).
Christians are going in the rapture.

We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed (1 Co 15:51–52).

We who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words (1 Th 4:15–18).

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame (Heb 6:4–6).

Obviously those living at the last day get reunited through a different channel than those dead...

There are different resurrections.

‘When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field when you reap, nor shall you gather any gleaning from your harvest. You shall leave them for the poor and for the stranger: I am the Lord your God.’” Le 23:22

[T]he whole mentality of the NT was that the 2nd coming was to have come so quickly that the Thess thought it already had.

That was because a bunch of dead people were walking around: The graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many (Mt 27:52–53).

Tares aren't going into the Millennium. Wheat goes (Mt 24:41). Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn (Mt 13:29–30).

The falling away from the faith, and that man of sin is revealed in them
