Traitor Gates

Defense Secretary Robert Gates on Tuesday strongly urged the Senate to repeal “don’t ask, don’t tell” before the end of the year, after the Pentagon released a study showing that more than two-thirds of service members don’t object to gays being in the military.

“Overall, with thoroughness and preparation, there is a low risk from repeating ‘don’t ask, don’t tell,’” Gates said, announcing the report, adding that it was a “matter of some urgency.”

They've done a study. It must be right. Meanwhile, homosexuality is a crime.  (Lev. 18:22, 1 Kin. 14:24, Lev. 20:13, Rom. 1:24, 26, 27).

Is Gates an enemy to our nation? Ps 33:12.

Response to comment [from a Christian]:  "He's just doing his job."

He's doing Obama's job. He could have resigned (Ps 5:6).

"Funny, how a short time ago, the homophobes..."

Barbi, are you a Sodomite?

"...were saying that we should go with the opinion of our fighting men and women in uniform."

Humanists value their own opinion over God's word (Lev. 18:22, 1 Kin. 14:24, Lev. 20:13, Rom. 1:24, 26, 27).

"So now we know what they think, and suddenly, the troops are "traitors.""

Gates expects us to believe his study.  Do you?

"Is there anyone here who actually thought that the homo-fixated really cared what the troops wanted or needed?"

Foxholes are not date night. Gates should have protected our troops.

Response to comment [from a Catholic]:  "...[T]he homophobes were saying that we should go with the opinion of our fighting men and women in uniform."

People are fearful when they tell the truth that homosexuality is wicked and leads to death?  Jn 10:10.

"You should know better."

I know that God knows better (Lev. 18:22, 1 Kin. 14:24, Lev. 20:13, Rom. 1:24, 26, 27).  Humanists trust themselves.  Christians trust God.

"And now they are "humanists."

Strawman.   I do not accuse every military member of being a humanist.

"Barbarian chuckles"

Ps. 2:4

"So now we know what they think, and suddenly, the troops are "traitors"."

Strawman. I do not call every military member a traitor.

"...[S]ick little minds of homophobes..."

You hate the homosexual (1 Cor 6:9, Pr 27:5).

"Seems like the troops don't think they need "protection" from homosexuals."

See:

60% of Marines Deployed to Combat Zone Say DADT Repeal Would Have Negative Impact

"People are fearful when they deny their own inclinations..."

Too bad you reject God's word (Ge 1:27, Lev. 18:22, 1 Kin. 14:24, Lev. 20:13, Rom. 1:24, 26, 27).  Homosexuality should be re-criminalized for military and civilians alike.  "Don't ask, don't tell" is wrong.

I notice that God doesn't obsess on it.

You wink at sin. God does not (Ps 99:9).

(Barbarian notes that a poll shows most military people do not object to homosexuals serving)...[O]nly a minority of combat troops think it would have an adverse effect.

See:

The Real Pentagon Poll: 91% Reject Homosexual Leaders -- 85% of Combat Marines Distrust -- 71% Won't Share Showers -- 24% Won't Re-Enlist

I just don't play the "my sin is nicer than yours" game that you do.

Strawman. I did not present a ranking system for sin though I'd recommend a study on that topic (Jn 19:11, Ro 1:28).

Seems like the troops don't think they need "protection" from homosexuals.

You fail to appreciate what John MacArthur calls the exceeding sinfulness of sin.

Response to comment [from a Christian]:  [Barbarian quote: "...[H]omophobes were saying that we should go with the opinion of our fighting men and women in uniform."] In other words all the arguments of the anti-gay crowd were in bad faith -- as usual.

Strawman.  Humanists put man's opinion over God's word. For Christians, God's word is the final word (Lev. 18:22, 1 Kin. 14:24, Lev. 20:13, Rom. 1:24, 26, 27).
