Turkey Turning Against Israel

[Turkey Turning Against Israel:  After vicious, premeditated attacks against Israelis, why does the U.S. refuse to defend the Jewish State? By Joel Rosenberg] "President Obama and the rest of the United States government should immediately and unequivocally condemn all of the activists who used live weapons, stun grenades, metal poles and other weapons to viciously attack Israel naval forces without provocation.

The Israelis boarded the vessel off the coast of Gaza to make sure the vessel wasn’t smuggling rockets and other war materials to the Hamas organization which is at war with Israel. They had every legal right to do so and were following international law. Yet five Israel commandos were wounded in the attacks against them. They returned fire to protect their own lives. The left-wing activists — some of them with ties to Radical Islamic terror organizations, including Hamas — engaged in premediatated acts of violence against Israel. What’s more, they began attacking the Israelis before the Israelis were even able to board the ships, as new videos [see link] show.

Why is the U.S. hesitating to speak out strongly and decisively in defense of Israel, our most faithful ally in the Middle East?

The Israelis have made it clear that they welcome humanitarian aid coming for the people of Gaza, but have insisted that the aid be transferred through safe and legal channels. “The ships participating in the flotilla were repeatedly offered to land the vessels in the Israeli port of Ashdod, and to transfer their aid through the existing land crossings, in accordance with established security procedures,” said Israeli Ambassador Aharon Leshno Yaar, Permanent Representative of Israel to the United Nations, Geneva, in testimony [see link] before the U.N. Human Rights Council. “But all our overtures were outright rejected..." Full text:
Turkey Turning Against Israel

And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem [Zech. 12:9].
There will be a converging of all the nations against Jerusalem, which we see in a great deal of detail in the Book of Revelation. All of these great prophecies are like trains or planes coming into a train station or airport. All of these great themes of prophecy which originate elsewhere in the Bible converge into the Book of Revelation like a great airport or Union Station.

Response to comment [from a Christian]:  "Because we have a President who cares more about Islam than he does the United States of America or our interests or well-being in general."

I think so, too--very sad. Israel needs our prayers now (Ps 122:6).  I had sort of hoped that the U.S. would not be in that "all the nations" who come against Israel (Zech 12:9)--not on my block.

Response to comment [from a Christian]:  "Why should America defend a nation that has killed American servicemen in the past?"

What would you suggest?  Should Israel not be our ally?  Our President's visceral reaction would seem to suggest that. :Nineveh:

Respond to comment [from a Christian]:  "I like the Gerald Doctrine. Let the "hairy barbarians" fight it out and who ever is left standing the US shall do business with.

Do you see a moral difference between the Israelis and their hairy barbarian enemies?

Response to comment [from a Muslim]:  "At some point, Israel needs to fight it's own battles, especially when they help start conflicts."

Israel would like to exist.  Do you support their right to exist?

"It's not always the other guy who is in the wrong..."

Do you see a difference between Israelis and their enemies?

"...No one is always the victim."

Someone said:  "If Palestinians laid down their weapons, there would be peace two days later.  If the Palestinians laid down their weapons there would be no Israel two days later."

Do you think that is true?

"America needs not enter a conflict on Israelis behalf..."

Israel has historically been our ally.  We should turn our back on her now?

"...and make tension and hostility even worse than it already is."

So because tensions are high, we should disengage so that Israel can be annihilated?

Response to comment [from an atheist]:  "Did you actually look at the Al-Jazeera propaganda that you posted?  It has Arab Christians praying in Jerusalem, while complaining that Arab Christians can't pray in Jerusalem. While there are closures at times of high tension that prevent all Palestinians from leaving the West bank, there isn't a targeted exclusion of Christians as you seem to be suggesting."

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain. Mighty D', you are making things very difficult. Would you agree to die already?

Response to comment [from a Muslim]: "You only want to bad mouth anything that is opposite of you..."

I want to tell the truth (Jn 14:6).

"...[S]top promoting negativity and hate."

What Jesus said is true or it is false (Jn 14:6).  If it is true, it is loving to share this news with others (Pr 27:5).  Your "holy" book says that you can believe the scriptures.  Do you?

Response to comment [from a Christian]:  "I loved how Al-Jazeera reported there were "at least" 19 dead, and then proceeded to shout massacre."

How about Obama's initial reaction? "The Obama administration 'deeply regrets the loss of life and injuries sustained...'"

As
Netanyahu said: "That was not a love boat. That was a boat of hatred. It was not a peaceful flotilla. The soldiers who boarded the ships were attacked by clubs..."

I don't "deeply regret" terrorists dying? Maybe Obama does (
Pr 22:6).

Response to comment [from a Muslim]:  "It's time that people who do not live there stop asserting their own opinions and listen to the people who live there."

We get it----you live there.  Others who do not live there cannot have an opinion?

Response to comment [from an atheist]:  "...If a line was crossed, it was by these "peace" activists..."

Damn you--you don't live there.

...P.S. Allahu Akbar...and have a nice day.

Response to comment [from an atheist]:  "...[H]e doesn't live there.  And he ignores the opinions of those who have lived there but contradict his narrative. How convenient."

Response to comment [from a Muslim]:  "I listen to the opinions of those who live there. I have never lived there, and that's why I listen to those who live there."

Must one have lived there to have a valid opinion?

"Certainly more valid than someone who hasn't..."

Proximity determines right and wrong?

"Nope, those testimonies in those videos do."

Experience determines right and wrong?

"Nope, but it certainly has a better position of the events in question, than inexperience does."

Are there others near that position who come to different conclusions?
