Vilifying the Teachers

Response to comment [from other]:  "No, they're not responsible."

"...[T]hey [the teachers] likely earned more than $3 million to not teach students in Wisconsin’s largest school district. In Madison, the school district was closed for three days after hundreds of teachers engaged in a mass sick-out so they could attend protest rallies at the State Capitol. That could cost the district $2.7 million...." Story.

Perhaps it's time for Wisconsin parents to homeschool.

Response to comment [from an atheist]:  "...[C]orrupt children's minds..."

Socrates was put to death...

Kill zem. Kill zem all.

Response to comment [from a Christian]:  "That's why they still have unions, and because they have unions they are able to bargain collectively for what we might call a "living wage"."

Wisconsin cannot afford collective bargaining.

"Collective bargaining is another word for democracy, representation, having a voice, etc."

Collective bargaining is another word for shakedown.

"You know, the things you are supposed to have in a democratic republic."

Response to comment [from a Christian]:  "I confess that the union busting that tea partiers and Christians seem to be at the forefront of will succeed in reducing my salary and benefits significantly."

"If you go back to a period, it began in 1962 to 1982, the courts in 20 years reversed the principle of "One Nation Under God" that had been the principle of American History. In 1962, in Engel v. Vitale Justice Hugo Black ruled that voluntary prayer in schools was unconstitutional. In 1963, in Abington Township School District v. Schempp Justice Thomas Clark set in motion the dismantling of Bible reading. Then, in 1980 the posting of the Ten Commandments was declared unconstitutional. Then came 1982, and the courts prohibited the teaching of creationism--that men, boys and girls were created by Almighty God. Twenty years it took them to expel God from the public schools and tell him not to come back..." Response to comment [from a Christian]:  "You want a free lunch. Sorry, you have to pay for those services, and to do it right you have to pay decent wages to public workers."

Should teachers earn more than they're worth?
