We should be asking: What did Jesus say? The Bible says that Jesus' shed blood redeems believers (1 Pe 1:18-19). We receive forgiveness for our sins: past, present, and future (Eph 1:7-8). Everyone who trusts in the Lord is declared "not guilty". We are justified (Ro 5:8-9), and reconciled-- brought into a right relationship with him (Col 1:19-22). Our sanctification begins when we trust in him (Heb 13:12).
