What is "Fatima"?

Response to comment [from a Catholic]: [Sky quote: So it's about Mary?] "Yes..."

It needs to be about Jesus.

Are apparitions of Mary, such as Lady Fatima, true messages from God? Why does Mary have such an important role in the Catholic faith?

Response to comment [from a Catholic]: "We think the mother of Jesus should be without sin."

Mary was a sinner in need of a savior.

And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed [emphasis added,
Luke 1:46–48].

"Now Mary sings a song. This is known as the Magnificat. This song teaches us several interesting things. Mary tells us in her song that she needed a Savior and that she rejoiced in Him. Protestant friend, let us call her blessed. We don’t make her a goddess and kneel before her, but we do need to call her blessed. It was her glorious privilege to be the mother of the Son of God, to bring Him into the world. We should not play it down, but we should not play it up either. She was a wonderful person, and it was no accident that she was chosen by God. It was His definite decision, and God makes no mistakes." McGee, J. V. (1991). Vol. 37: Thru the Bible commentary: The Gospels (Luke) (electronic ed.) (31). Nashville: Thomas Nelson.
