[Where Are the Contradictions? Biblical Authority Devotional: Infallibility and Inerrancy of Scripture, Part 3 by Steve Ham] I have heard it said before that if you get two people together, you can form a church, but when you get three people, you need to form two churches. Basically, it is impossible for any number of human beings to totally agree with each other. We have seen it through the ages so often. The marketplace of ideas always has its critics, and people always have their opinion. For example, evolutionary philosophy has been around at least since the 4th century BC. with many variations—until popularized in our modern era by Charles Darwin. Particularly with this philosophy, there is still wide variation of agreement and disagreement within the secular science academia.

In the commencement of his letter to the Romans, Paul wrote something very profound: Jesus has been proclaimed through the prophets. In fact, Peter wrote that those prophets were men moved by the Holy Spirit when God was progressively revealing His Word to humanity (2 Peter 1:21). These prophets who proclaimed the coming Jesus never contradicted each other. Each of them proclaimed different things about Jesus—who He was going to be and what He was going to do—and all were fulfilled. What is more amazing is that many of these prophets lived at different times and in different places.

Biblical inerrancy is an amazing and a supernatural wonder. Only God could give us a consistent message revealed progressively through many human instruments over different periods of time and places. The New Testament never contradicts the Old Testament, and no one book, chapter, or verse contradicts another. What are the chances that you could just get any two people on earth, even living at the same time and the same place, to do that?

The progressive nature of revelation has not placed inerrancy under any question. The consistency of the message through the years of revelation has testified to the great and overwhelming wonder of a limitless and infallible God. Many have claimed to find apparent contradictions within the biblical text, but Scripture has never been found as the fallible party. http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/2010/07/12/contradictions
