Why the will can never be free
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "Those who believe the will to be free, believe so because they feel it to be the case. Feelings and appearances are deceptive. The will cannot be free simply by virtue of the fact that at any point in time, the will cannot be what it is not. "But", I hear you say, "I can change my will!". You can indeed. But your changing of your will, is simply your will to change your will, which itself is a will which cannot be what it is not, at the time that it is what it is. So the will is bound by the law of non-contradiction. In short, it is bound by itself."
