Will God Forgive Suicide
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "I say that all who sin and commit suicide do not deserve punishment or eternal damnation, because they were merely overwhelmed by the evil in our world..."
To be, or not
to be: that is the question:
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to
suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous
fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of
troubles,
And by opposing end them?
—Shakespeare, Hamlet
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "There's only one unforgivable sin, and it's not murdering oneself..."
That's right. Every sin can be
forgiven except for the sin of
rejecting the Holy Spirit (Mt
12:32).
“I didn't want
to wake up. I was having a much
better time asleep. And that's
really sad. It was almost like a
reverse nightmare, like when you
wake up from a nightmare you're so
relieved. I woke up into a
nightmare.” ~ Ned Vizzini, It's Kind
of a Funny Story

Suicide
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "I'm sure there have been believers that committed suicide, if so they were forgiven. There's only one unforgivable sin, and it's not murdering oneself."
"It is conceivable that men who do not believe in God or in a future state of existence, should think it allowable to take refuge in annihilation from the miseries of this life. But it is unaccountable, except on the assumption of temporary or permanent insanity, that any man should rush uncalled into the retributions of eternity. Suicide, therefore, is most frequent among those who have lost all faith in religion. It is a very complicated crime; our life is not our own; we have no more right to destroy our life than we have to destroy the life of a fellow-man. Suicide is, therefore, self murder. It is the desertion of the post which God has assigned us; it is a deliberate refusal to submit to his will; it is a crime which admits of no repentance, and consequently involves the loss of the soul." Hodge, C. (1997). Systematic theology (Vol. 3, p. 367). Oak Harbor, WA: Logos Research Systems, Inc.
"The thought of suicide is a great consolation; one can get through many a bad night with it." ~ Friedrich Nietzsche, Beyond Good and Evil
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "I remember one day when I was in Teen Challenge, we heard of a student's family member committing suicide. We were all taught that death is final, yet all 5 of us standing in that group instantly and simultaneously got an undeniable prompting in our spirits to pray for this man's salvation, even though he was already dead."
Too late (2 Cor 5:8).
We cannot tear out a single page of our life, but we can throw the whole book in the fire. —George Sand, Mauprat
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "Memorize: ....Christ died for our sins...."
Did we die to our sins? 1 Jn 3:9
"It has nada to do with how they will look "outside.""
That's for
sure (2 Ti 3:5). There are many
false converts.

Response to comment [from a Christian]: "Guaranteed a person will not commit suicide if he or she connects with Christ and starts receiving manifold..."
As long as
your life
has meaning.
Eccl 1:2
"The gifts from God gives life unspeakable meaning. A suicidal person does not see meaning or...You do not know about the grace of Grace of God. What do you tell the Catholics?"
I encourage Catholics to trust in Christ alone. We are saved by grace alone (Eph 2:8-9), through faith alone (Eph 1:13; 2Ti 1:10), in Christ alone (Isa 45:21,22; 59:16; Ac 4:12). Roman Catholics deny this (Jude 1:11).
Response to comment [from a Christian] "Again, for the babes, to emphasize the importance of rightly dividing the word of truth, per 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV. Who is being addressed:?"
It is true that not all of scripture is written to us but all of scripture is written for us.
