Death by Drone

U.S. Approval to Kill a Cleric Causes Unease "WASHINGTON — The Obama administration’s decision to authorize the killing by the Central Intelligence Agency of a terrorism suspect who is an American citizen has set off a debate over the legal and political limits of drone missile strikes, a mainstay of the campaign against terrorism...

The C.I.A. has placed the American-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki on a list for killing...

The notion that the government can, in effect, execute one of its own citizens far from a combat zone, with no judicial process and based on secret intelligence, makes some legal authorities deeply uneasy.

To eavesdrop on the terrorism suspect who was added to the target list, the American-born radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, who is hiding in Yemen, intelligence agencies would have to get a court warrant. But designating him for death, as C.I.A. officials did early this year with the approval of the National Security Council, required no judicial review..."

Response to comment [from an atheist] “...[D]rone hovering over your house...”.

I’d re-word it:

“the American-born radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaki”

to:

“the American-born cleric Anwar al-:vomit:Awlaki”

Response to comment [from an atheist]:  "I feel that if they're at this point that working things out legally is no longer an option so if he's a threat to society..."

Sure--until they call Christians a threat to society (Ga 4:29).

Response to comment [from an atheist]:  "I quiver in antici......pation of that day! : sharpens beheading knife while chuckling evilly :"

Response to comment [from an atheist]:  "I don't think bounty hunting Christians will stand up to the general public nearly as well as bounty hunting a suspected terrorist."

Even when the Obama administration calls those who are have a "Christian identity" or who consider themselves "Constitution defenders" terrorists? (Re 18:20-24).

Response to comment [from an atheist]:  "Well, aren't you just a wet blanket?  And here SD was getting all excited about the possibility of martyrdom..."

We Christians sort of like our heads (Ps 7:1).

"But you're not attached enough to them to be willing to fight to keep them if it comes to that."

You can be sure I'll get in the right foxhole.

"You guys aren't called upon to fight; not physically, at any rate.  It's all about spiritual warfare with you guys..."

I forgot.  We're all cherubs.

"...You're supposed to be expressing love for your enemy even as he's cutting off your head."

It's true.  We are to love our enemy (Matt. 5:44; Rom. 12:20) and die to ourselves (Ro 6:4).  But hand grenades are loving.
