Dutch MPs to decide on burqa ban

Response to comment [from other]:  "I think most of the driving force behind this amounts to a backhanded resistance to rising Muslim influence...I think allowing any group of people to routinely dress in a manner that renders them nearly impossible to identify individually is generally a bad idea."

Right.  Common sense alone should tell a person that the burqa is dehumanizing?  I don't think PETA would allow dogs to be treated in this way.  Where is the National Organization for Women?

"I think women should dress modestly and recognize how men, by nature, react to a woman's appearance, taking that into account and respecting it."

Definitely.  Women should dress modestly.  Our culture is just as disgusting sticking a camera all around the bare body (Enyart).

Surprisingly, it is Muslim women who support the burqa most. :hammer:

Response to comment [from an atheist]:  "I am generally a fan of Mr. Wilders, but this is too much. And I think it undermines him."

I never thought I'd be a fan of any Dutch man.

"Those who push censorship shouldn't be too surprised when they themselves are censored."

Any man who is banned in Britain is a friend of mine.   Why do you call it censorship not liberation (the good kind) for women.

Response to comment [from a Christian]:  "I am from the Netherlands, and I don't support the ideas of Wilders about the burqa (or as we call it: de boerka).  I think we should respect others in what they believe and how they want to dress, though I think it's (in our culture) not (yet) accepted that some women are completely covered (except their eyes)."

Please, don't accept it.  We are made in God's image and likeness.  Women should be treated as such (Prov. 31:10–30).

"A short time ago, I saw a report on Dutch television about a men who was a bus-driver. He is a Christian and therefore he is wearing a little cross around his neck (hope you understand what I mean). His boss wanted him to put off that little cross, because some people could have objections against it. His female-colleagues who are wearing a burqua were allowed to wear a burqua. The little cross of the man was harder to recognize than the burqua. I think this is a strange case and I wonder what your opinions are..."

It's political correctness.  I hope people will tell the truth in the Netherlands.  Islam is a wicked perversion of Christianity.

"I Hope you understand what I'm trying to say, my English is quite bad..."

No, it's just fine.
