Response to comment [from a Christian]: "[Would] gov't healthcare would be a good thing? Or the stimulus spending?"
Obama said that we will join other great nations in
providing healthcare. Our country has the best healthcare in the world, yet he
aspires to be like Europe to diminish our care. American values (Judeo-Christian
in origin) are as Dennis Prager says "liberty, e pluribus unum (from many one),
and "In God we Trust". This is the American trinity--seen on the dollar bill.
Europeans value equality (e.g. the French Revolution) not liberty (e.g. the
American Revolution).
The Republicans started the stimulus spending. As Bob Enyart says, Re-publicans
spend the same--they just do it slower. When government follows biblical
principals like "Do not murder"; "Do not steal"; society works.
Obama asked conservatives: "What is your solution?" I would answer doing nothing
is better than doing what he has planned. "Don't tread on me" so to speak. Guns
sales are sure up. Ours is a hunting family and after Obama was elected the gun
shops were bare. I think people sense some rough times ahead. They are concerned
about their rights as American citizens. Maybe Obama is right--conservatives
cling to their guns, groceries and religion.
Response to comment [from a Muslim]: [Healthcare/Insecurity in the Nation] "Irony in these two statements, wouldn't you agree?"
I added "groceries". I believe Obama only mocked conservatives for their guns and religion. But the point remains. Citizens are concerned right now. Not all conservatives are Christian of course.
As Christians, we know that perilous times will come but we put our trust in the Lord. Read 2 Timothy 3. All of these things have occurred in our lifetime.
The Lord is coming. You'd do well to know him.
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "[T]he left was essentially told to shut up for 8 years because the other side won the election. Every time anyone attacked Bush politically, they were told that they were being un-patriotic because he was the commander in-chief during a time of war. And now suddenly, while we are still at war, the same people think its a good idea to call the president a Nazi?"
Calling people "Nazi" is a leftist habit. Didn't Obama just say "They can't stop us." He is no longer campaigning. He is supposed to be representing all Americans. Yet, he makes it clear that he does not represent all Americans. Obama is your president--he is bipartisan--as long as you agree with his leftist agenda (Ecclesiastes 10:2). That is what he means by "We are the ones we have been waiting for."
