Ready for Car Bombs?
"Times Square reopened Sunday, but the investigation into a car bomb scare that led to evacuations at the site continues...
An SUV found parked on 45th Street Saturday evening was loaded with explosives, smoking and moments from blowing up when an alert t-shirt vendor noticed something wasn't right and alerted a mounted police officer."
"...'We avoided what could have been a very deadly event,' Mayor Bloomberg said..."Firefighters, emergency service officers and the bomb squad responded and the bomb squad confirmed that the suspicious vehicle did indeed contain an explosive device..." Response to comment [from a Christian]: "Hmm...don't you think it's best we find out exactly who did this before we start pointing fingers?"
Why is that? Because CNN will
tell us if they end up being Muslims?
Do you think Islam is compatible with Judeo-Christian values? Do you find that
Muslims assimilate perfectly? No problems there?
Response to comment [from a Christian]: [Pakistani Taliban claims NYC car bomb attempt (link)]
Thank you for the update, Knight. I was terribly concerned that the Amish were responsible for this:
"So runs the comforting media
narrative that has developed around the approximately 6 million Muslims in the
United States, who are often portrayed as well-assimilated and willing to leave
their religion and culture behind in pursuit of American values and lifestyle.
...I have encountered a different truth. I found few signs of London-style
radicalism among Muslims in the United States. At the same time, the real story
of American Muslims is one of accelerating alienation from the mainstream of
U.S. life, with Muslims in this country choosing their Islamic identity over
their American one.
The basic tenets of Islam are incompatible with assimilation. Therefore Muslims
who come to Western countries are settlers, not immigrants. They do not come to
join our societies. They come to recreate their own societies side-by-side with
ours..." Full text:
Muslims In America Turning Away From Assimilation
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "[P]erhaps the other terrorist groups have too much self respect to claim responsibility for Failbomb."
Still, you got it into Times Square around so many infidels. Any Muslim dad or mom has gotta be proud of that!
Response to comment [from an atheist]: "By those standards, Jewish and Amish groups shouldn't be allowed here because they're "incompatible" with American values."
How is that?
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "Bullhockey!....It's
Italians who don't assimilate and are incompatible with American Values.....I
should know my Grandfather heard those accusations first hand.
Heck, I'm still waiting for some fine upstanding "American" to come and get my
Greaser WOP Behind and send me back to Rome where I belong!"
So, you're a greaser WOP?
"Yep...Come 'n get me..."
Look at you! I'm not going
anywhere.
Most men I know have at some point in their lives done a Marlon Brando
impression.
And did you know, some men are intimidated by greaser WOPs? I did not know this, but I heard a man once say that he was intimidated by Italians. He said that he didn't appreciate his wife seeing any movies if Italian men were portrayed because it made him jealous.
Interesting, don't you think?--a little sad, but a little interesting, too.
C.A.I.R. must have condemned this act of violence in the name of their peaceful faith. Does anyone have the link?
Response to comment [from other]: "...betraying the values of the faith they claim to represent."
You love to be lied to--am I right? Jer 5:31.

I'm having a hard time uploading the photo of Muslims gathering in Times Square to protest this act of violence in the name of peaceful Islam. YouTube is a little slow today people.
Response to comment [from a pagan]: "How many Christians will suffer a witch to live these days? Or should the pagans be secretly worried?"
"It's important to note here that the belief that envy toward the more fortunate could be transformed into a curse -- basically, the evil eye -- can be found in tribal cultures all over the world. A woman whose child dies or who mysteriously finds herself unable to produce milk, can deflect the (unreasonable) blame that might be attached to herself by fingering a person who's low in the village pecking order. The evil eye is not a particularly Christian idea, and early on the church actually discouraged members from clinging to old folk beliefs in magic and evil sorcerers because they were inconsistent with church doctrine...
Of course, many times the local church authorities participated enthusiastically in the persecution, but in most cases, the community itself started it. The church used trials and demonology texts that detailed and classified diabolical behavior to impose order on the chaotic paranoia of villagers looking for scapegoats for their own misfortunes. Most of us have heard that Christianity incorporated such pagan and folk traditions as the winter solstice festival (Christmas) and the spring festival (Easter) into the Christian calendar. There's every reason to believe that -- far from seeking to eradicate folk beliefs in black magic -- Christian churches took advantage of ancient superstitions by stepping in to offer themselves as a solution to the mischief done by evil sorcerers. No wonder the witch hunts got bloodier when Catholics and Protestants were competing for followers...
None of this excuses the Catholic and Protestant churches for the many atrocities they've perpetrated over the centuries, against "witches" or anyone else who earned their disfavor. But it's also a caution against idealizing a pagan past about which we know next to nothing. The pagan cultures that have left records have proven themselves every bit as capable of misogyny and of senselessly brutalizing outsiders and misfits. As human beings, pagans were just as capable of barbarity as monotheists; and as human beings, women can be just as wicked as men, given half a chance..." full text: Who burned the Witches? http://www.vananne.com/serpentdove/Who%20burned%20the%20witches.htm
Response to comment [from an atheist]: "People will find a way to mix their culture with the American culture."
Of course. :idunno: A little aO-(2-diisopropylaminoethyl) O'-ethyl methylphosphonite (Agent QL) with elemental sulfur (Agent NE) or sulfur compounds, as with dimethyl polysulfide... As the French would say, pas de problème.

Islam is not incompatible with Judeo-Christian values. Believe their words. They are not interested in peace. They are interested in spreading Islam with the sword.
"...[They] would not harm their neighbors, steal etc. Put down your pitchforks, people."
Who uses pitchforks? We share the love of Christ.
Response to comment [from a Christian]: "There is a moral divide..."
There is--between us and them. American values (as Dennis Prager likes to say) are: 'In God we Trust', Liberty, and E pluribus unum, Latin for 'out of many, one'.
[Who uses pitchforks? We share the love of Christ.] "That's pretty general. Do you mean that you try to convert them?"
We don't convert anybody. It is the work of the Holy Spirit to convict a person (Gen. 6:3). We share the word of God with others.
"What of those who steadfastly hang on to their religion, or even convert Christians to Islam?"
We are the most welcoming people on the planet. We don't care where you came from. Once you're here, you're an American. You'll notice, it's a tactic of the Left to attempt to divide by race, ethnicity or culture. The Christian knows we are one blood and one race--the human race (Ac 17:26). In Christ, all barriers fall (Col 3:11).
Assurance is produced by faith (Eph 3:12; 2Ti 1:12; Heb 10:22) and confirmed by the love of Jesus (1 Jo 3:14,19; 4:18). We are preserved in him (Ps 3:6,8; 27:3-5; 46:1-3).
Response to comment [from an atheist]: [There is [a moral divide] between us and them...You'll notice, it's a tactic of the Left to attempt to divide by race, ethnicity or culture.] "You don't see any contradiction in what you just said?"
No.
The division between American and the rest of the world--referred to as American exceptionalism (and leftists loathe the thought)--is one of values. Dividing because of values is a good thing (Lk 12:51). Dividing because of race, ethnicity, or culture is a bad thing (Ac 17:26).
Response to comment [from other]: "Are you trying to say that America has better values than anywhere else?"
The idea of the idea hurts you deeply, we know.
"Will you ever give a straight answer to a straight question? It doesn't 'hurt me deeply' in "idea" form whatsoever. I'd like to see what basis you have for such a concept."
...deeply.
"...[Y]ou can't give a straight answer then..."
I have no idea if you believe in American exceptionalism. Being one who leans left, I doubt it.
Response to comment [from other]: "Far be it from me to impugn the nature of such a respected organization. Your professional performance in such regard is beyond reproach sir..."
Hey! Gud'uk...Gud'uk...You can talk good nice-talk.
