Death threats come in for South Park: 'They will probably end up like Theo van Gogh'

Response to comment [from a Christian]:  "...The website Revolutionmuslim.com has put up a video on their site as well as on Youtube juxtaposing images of the two men who are behind South Park alongside pictures of Ayaan Hirsi Ali (who still lives with permanent security protection) and the dead body of her own film-making partner Theo van Gogh. Van Gogh was murdered in an Amsterdam street by an Islamist in 2004 for the “crime” of making a film about the abuse of women within some Islamic communities.

To a backing-track of jihad preachers, the Revolutionmuslim post reads that: “We have to warn Matt [Stone] and Trey [Parker] that what they are doing is stupid and they will probably wind up like Theo Van Gogh for airing this show. This is not a threat, but a warning of the reality of what will likely happen to them...”

Watch how people react.  Think Shari'a Law will come to the U.S.?

"IRD Calls Churches to Confront (Shari'a) Islamic Law

'Living in tolerance of other faith groups does not require Christians to give in to every demand for the sake of political correctness.' -- Faith J.H. McDonnell, IRD Religious Liberty Program Director...

Washington, April 22 /Christian Newswire/ -- Concerned that Christian groups are not fully realizing the threat posed by an expansion of Shari'a (Islamic law) in the West, the Institute on Religion and Democracy (IRD) is calling upon churches to stand against global attempts to enshrine it.

IRD Religious Liberty Program Director Faith J.H. McDonnell cited wide-ranging examples of authorities accommodating Islamist demands, among them a draft constitution in Kenya that would give an official place to Islamic Khadi courts -- effectively creating a different set of rules for Muslims.

McDonnell also cited concerns in the United States, where political correctness led to the temporary banning of an advertisement deemed offensive to Muslims on the Miami-Dade County transit system. Similarly, a radical Islamic website ominously warned creators of the television show "South Park" that they could face violent retribution for depicting the Prophet Muhammad during an episode broadcast last week.

IRD Religious Liberty Program Director Faith J.H. McDonnell commented:

"From developing nations like Kenya to Western powers like Britain, the trend is to capitulate to Islamist factions within the Muslim population by enshrining Shari'a into the legal code or by accommodating its demands by social custom.

"Living in tolerance of other faith groups does not require Christians to give in to every demand for the sake of political correctness. When human rights are at stake, Christians especially must speak out for those whose rights, including Muslims, could be jeopardized by the imposition of Islamic law.

"Churches should encourage free societies to refuse censorship in the service of 'anti-blasphemy' and resist efforts to create different courts and law codes for different religious groups." IRD Calls Churches to Confront (Shari'a) Islamic Law

Don't blame me.  I voted for the American.

More reaction:

"...While these death threats are certainly worth censoring, what still remains is that Comedy Central has surrendered to this intimidation. Doing so makes them look timid, which is never a way to describe South Park. An executive producer of the show has said that the censorship was due to fear of violence..." Response to comment [from a Christian]:  "Cowards sicken me."

Me too.    I'm glad they go to hell first. "But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars--their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death (Re 21:8)."

Response to comment [from other]:  "I would bet that they are writing a "response episode" as we speak."

They'll get out their prayer rugs and grovel until C.A.I.R. tells them their speech is "prophet"-appropriate.

Has C.A.I.R. issued a statement of outrage yet because Muslims threaten violence?  [:chz4brnz: crickets chirping]

Has C.A.I.R. appealed to Muslims to refrain from violence yet? [:chz4brnz: crickets chirping]

Hello out there...Hello out there.

Response to comment [from a Catholic]:  "Vive La Differences! America's freedoms guarantee our ability to freely choose our house/home of worship or not..."

Au contraire.  Our cultural freedom diminishes daily.  It's perfectly fine to portray Jesus as a hippy on Family Guy, but watch out if you portray "the prophet" Mohammad on South Park.

Sidebar:  Do they really have to say "the prophet" each time they mention the pedophile, rapist's name?
