want to reduce that by over 20%. We want to drop the rate, particularly, for

Vice President Joe Biden said at a manufacturing plant in Davenport, Iowa this
week.
"We want to create (what's called) a global minimum tax, because American
taxpayers shouldn't be providing a larger subsidy for investing abroad than

My guess would be that he used the word "tax" to refer to tariffs being applied to American manufactured goods by other countries, and by a "global tax" he means some sort of universal tariff system. Does business serve you? What computer are you using right now? Why should a company make the computer for you? Any drinks nearby? Ice cubes from your refrigerator? Who made your soda, coffee, etc.? Refrigerator? Are you sitting on a chair? Who made the chair for you? Did they do it out of the goodness of their heart? You use products made by people who are interested in making a profit.

our collective well-being, then there's no point in our engaging in it."

You seem to have deliberately left out the first part of that sentence..."We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
You are created equal (Ac 17:26) to pursue your own happiness (2 Thess. 3:7–14) not steal from another (Ex 20:15, 17) to gain happiness. You are not entitled to the fruits of another man's labor. If you won't work, you should starve (2 Thess 3:10).
