Response to comment [from a Catholic]: "[Translation]: "I don't like the authoritative teachings of Christ's historic Church!"

We haven't been called into a set of rules (Heb. 13:15, 16).

Response to comment [from a Catholic]: "Pate is a publically confirmed liar..."

You call all believers this (Eph 4:14).

[You call all believers liars this (Eph 4:14).] "Only those who, like Pate, have proven themselves to be public liars. (Eph. 4:14.)"

Intensional
He's sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is one of grace not works (Ac 20:24, Eph 3:2). You are the deceiver (Jude 11).

"...In any case, you're just frustrated..."

You are unable to support your claims.

"...at having been revealed as a public liar yourself..."

You're projecting again (2 Pe 2:1).

Response to comment [from a Christian]: "Paul said that his Gospel justifies "THE UNGODLY".  "But to him that does NO works, but believes on him that JUSTIFIES THE UNGODLY, his faith is counted for righteousness," Romans 4:5.  Does the Catholic Gospel justify the ungodly?  Is faith counted for righteousness in the Catholic religion?  Can one be justified without works in the Catholic religion?  Please don't insult our intelligence by saying the Catholic religion teaches the same Gospel."

If you put it in all caps , he'll get it. Jn 3:19

"I think he's talking to you." ~ Homer Simpson

He (not the Roman Catholic Church, ) is the author and finisher of our faith (Heb 12:2). Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ (Ro 10:17).

See:

Works vs. Faith

"Amen! Works are the result of faith. 1 Timothy 4:10."

Yes. All a dead person can do is dead works (Col. 1:21, Is. 29:15, Ps. 14:1, Prov. 11:18, John 7:7, Eph. 5:11. Rogers). When he is willing to give up his sin (Jn 3:19), he'll get it (Jn 8:43).

The heart of the matter is still a matter of the heart (Jer 17:9).
