Do you believe everyone desires happiness as you do? That everyone is
seeking what is in their best interest as they see it? Or, do you
believe that some desire unhappiness?

Personal happiness has become somewhat of a taboo concept for a lot of
authoritarians, because authoritarians are taught to shun their own
happiness as a priority. They believe their only priority in life should to
be obedience to 'The Authority'.
Our country was founded for the purpose of pursuing
life, liberty and happiness (Eccl 10:2, Jn 10:10) so who are these
"authoritarians"?
When you follow God's law, it leads to happiness (Ps 119:70). We are under grace
not law; however, if you break God's law, we've got a justice system for you (Ro
13:4).
