Evolution—atheism
[Evolution—atheism by
Dr William B. Provine] “Let me summarize my views on what modern evolutionary
biology tells us loud and clear … . There are no gods, no purposes, no
goal-directed forces of any kind. There is no life after death. When I die, I am
absolutely certain that I am going to be dead. That’s the end for me. There is
no ultimate foundation for ethics, no ultimate meaning to life, and no free will
for humans, either.” —Dr. William B. Provine, Professor of Biological Sciences,
Cornell University. Evolution Exposed, Second Ed.

Response to comment [from a "Christian"]: "Provine has no idea what he's talking about."
And you do.
"Pterosaurs [are]...distantly related to crocodiles (Alate_One)."
...feather problem.
"Having a true bird appear before alleged feathered dinosaurs, no mechanism to
change scales into feathers, no mechanism to change a reptilian lung into an
avian lung, and no legitimate dinosaurs found with feathers are all good
indications that dinosaurs didn’t turn into birds. The evidence is consistent
with what the Bible teaches about birds being unique and created after their
kinds.
Genesis is clear that God didn’t make birds from pre-existing dinosaurs. In
fact, dinosaurs (land animals made on Day 6) came after winged creatures made on
Day 5, according to the Bible. Both biblically and scientifically, chicken
eaters around the world can rest easy—they aren’t eating mutant dinosaurs." Full

Did Dinosaurs Turn Into Birds? by David Menton
...neck problem
"There is no neck problem for the evolution of giraffes (Alate_One)."
Giraffes:
"The list of what must have evolved “in sync” with the rest of the giraffe’s
anatomy is lengthy and impressive. Evolutionist Robert Wesson stated in his
book, Beyond Natural Selection:
The protogiraffe had not only to lengthen neck vertebra (fixed at seven in
mammals) but to make any concurrent modifications: the head, difficult to
sustain atop the long neck, became relatively smaller…. Big lungs were necessary
to compensate for breathing through a tube 10 feet long; many muscles, tendons,
and bones had to be modified harmoniously; the forelegs were lengthened with
corresponding restructuring of the frame; and many reflexes had to be reshaped
(1991, p. 226, parenthetical item in orig.).
As Wesson noted, these processes had to come into existence at the same time!
The head had to be miniaturized in order to rest on the top of a 15-foot giant;
the giraffe’s lungs are eight times the size of an average human’s in order for
it to breathe through a ten-foot trachea; and every structural support must
reshape to match the new form of the neck. Any statistician (or physiologist)
would balk at the probability of a creature evolving these extreme
characteristics..." Full text:

Response to comment [from other]: "Supreme irony on your part to quote this: 'Let me summarize my views...'"
That was a quote from Dr. William B. Provine, Professor of Biological Sciences, Cornell University. That is why it is in quotations.
"When actually you appear to have no views yourself..."
My head is filled with cottonballs.
Jesus must have been wrong affirming creation, too.
"...of any biological merit..."
I'm not a biologist.
"At least you used quotation marks with a reference around your plagiarism."
I'm sorry you can't read, Stubo.
An English course may help.
A few housekeeping items:
If I do not respond to your repeated question, that is my way of saying--please
refer to the first response.
Response to comment [from a "Christian"]: "SD is copy pasting her entire posts, that is what we call plagiarism, though she is at least linking her source."
I've cited my source. It's not enough that you indoctrinate in the classroom. You don't want anyone here knowing truth, either.
Response to comment [from a Catholic]: "...[A]nd this tells me that all you have is the [B]ible..."
Open it. The Pope says:
Simon says you may open the Bible.

Response to comment [from a Catholic]: "Would you like to see more about how giraffes evolved?"
Giraffes don't need blood flow through their neck. Don't be silly.
"You have the same adaptations in your blood vessels."
Sure,
we're all related.
Somebody help him.
Response to comment [from other]: "Dr. Provine sounds like a total
downer. What does rejection of Creationism have to do with ethics? Purpose in
life? If I don't subscribe to the notion of Creationism I have no moral
boundaries? No ethics? No reason to live? Oh and of course I must be an
atheist because only an atheist would be interested in legitimate science.
Serpent, more and more I am convinced that you are a miserable human being who
wants to suck the joy out of life."
1 Cor 6:9, Ps 21:1
An excerpt Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis: "...We have two bits of evidence about the Somebody [God]. One is the universe He has made...He was a great artist [Ps 19:1]...The other bit of evidence is that Moral Law which He has put into our minds [Ro 2:15]. And this is a better bit of evidence than the other, because it is inside information. You find our more about God from the Moral Law than from the universe in general just as you find out more about a man by listening to his conversation than by looking at a house he has built...
[W]e know that if there does exist an absolute goodness it must hate most of what we do [Ro 3:12, Ro 3:23]. This is the terrible fix we are in. If the universe is not governed by an absolute goodness, then all our efforts are in the long run hopeless [1 Cor 15:17-19]. But if it is, then we are making ourselves enemies to that goodness every day [Isa 59:2], and are not in the least likely to do any better tomorrow, and so our case is hopeless again. We cannot do without it, and we cannot do with it. God is the only comfort, He is also the supreme terror [Heb 10:31]: the thing we most need [Ps 18:2] and the thing we most want to hide from [1 Cor 1:23, Luke 20:18]. He is our only possible ally, and we have made ourselves His enemies. Some people talk as if meeting the gaze of absolute goodness would be fun [Ex 33:20]. They need to think again. They are still only playing with religion. Goodness is either the great safety or the great danger--according to the way you react to it. And we have reacted the wrong way [Ro 3:11]....
Christianity tells people to repent and promises them forgiveness [Ps 69:32]. It therefore has nothing (as far as I know) to say to people who do not know they have done anything to repent of and who do not feel that they need any forgiveness [Mt 9:13]. It is after you have realized that there is a real Moral Law, and a Power behind the law, and that you have broken that law and put yourself wrong with that Power [Re 3:17]--it is after all this, and not a moment sooner, that Christianity begins to talk. When you know you are sick, you will listen to the doctor. When you have realized that our position is nearly desperate you will begin to understand what the Christians are talking about...
If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end: if you look for comfort you will not get either comfort or truth--only soft soap and wishful thinking to begin with and, in the end, despair. Most of us have got over the pre-war wishful thinking about international politics. It is time we did the same about religion [Eph 6:12]."
Response to comment [from other]: "Why do you start all of these threads...[They] could have been merged into one...If you're simply here to irritate people then well done."
Why does it irritate you when truth gets out? Ro 1:18
