...Matthew 5:27-28 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Here's the Greek word he used:
1937 epithyméō (from 1909 /epí, "focused on" intensifying 2372 /thymós, "passionate desire") – properly, to show focused passion as it aptly builds on (Gk epi, "upon") what a person truly yearns for; to "greatly desire to do or have something – 'to long for, to desire very much' " (L & N, 1, 25.12)...

[Lust] Yes.

Case in point (Eph. 5:21–33).

All of the above goes back to self - selfishness. Every crime and every sin.

That's right. Choosing self over other. Looking out for number one. 1 Jn 3:14

Response to comment [from other]: "And a lot of infidelity is not about sexual attraction but desire for emotional intimacy through a fling outside of the marriage..."
Tell us all about it at the Great White Throne (Heb 13:4).

My lust was always sexual!

elohiym View Post
My lust was mostly not sexual.

Your god could be: every woman that walks by (Ex 20:14), money (1 Ti 6:10), power (1 John 2:16) etc.. Anything that comes between you and God--is your god (Rom. 1:22, 23, 2 Cor. 6:15–18, Gal. 4:8, 9).

"I would not wish Psalm 109 on you."

"Ps 109:2–5 David’s complaint was that the innocent were being accused by the guilty. He asserted that the charges were without cause (109:3). While Doeg the Edomite has been identified by some (cf. 1 Sam. 21, 22; Ps. 52), the far more likely candidate would be Saul (cf. 1 Sam. 18–27). Eight of the 14 historical superscriptions in other psalms refer to the sufferings of David related to Saul’s pursuits for the purpose of killing David (cf. Pss. 18, 34, 54, 56, 57, 59, 63, 142)." MacArthur, J., Jr. (Ed.). (1997). The MacArthur Study Bible (electronic ed., p. 842). Nashville, TN: Word Pub.

"The Persecution (109:1–5, 22–25)

The ruthless attacks (109:1–5)
They slander him with horrible lies (109:1–3): They use hateful words and fight against him for no reason.
They repay kindness with treachery (109:4–5): They return evil for good, hatred for love.

The devastating results (109:22–25)
They leave him poor, needy, and near death (109:22–23, 25): He is full of pain, an object of mockery, and is fading like a shadow.
He is reduced to skin and bones (109:24) : His knees are weak." Willmington, H. L. (1999). The Outline Bible (Ps 109). Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers.

"Do you really want to push this? What you are doing is implying my wife is guilty of sexual immorality."

I don't know your wife.

"...So yes, the innocent is being accused by the guilty. What you are doing is a sin. What you are implying my wife did, she didn't do."

Then don't case aspersions.

I replied to the polygamist not you. Is she your wife?

Response to comment [from a Christian]: [Member discussing his marriage  "...[H]e has his wife convinced that he can be aroused by other women and there is nothing wrong with it."

She's not big on oneness (Mt 5:28, Jb 31:1).

Yes, they love to share all kinds of intimate details and then they get all offended when others share their thoughts. It happens all the time with these two. You'd think they'd learn to keep their personal business to themselves.

I covet my brain from four minutes ago. Heb 13:4

He usually keeps this stuff in some forum besides ECT, but was convinced he'd find allies over here. I can see it's already heading to places it shouldn't go, since the wife is going to explain all about erectile dysfunction and involuntary "arousals". Hopefully, someone will move it to an appropriate place.
