Paul's gospel was a mystery. Why don't you believe his report?

Romans 16:25 ...

Better cut off that 'obedience' part (v. 26).

Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began [Rom. 16:25].

"“The mystery” means that it had not been revealed in the Old Testament. It refers to the present age when God is taking both Jew and Gentile and fashioning them into one body, the church." McGee, J. V. (1991). Thru the Bible commentary: The Epistles (Romans 9-16) (electronic ed., Vol. 43, p. 138). Nashville: Thomas Nelson.

"...The NT’s most common mystery is that God would provide salvation for Gentiles as well as Jews (Eph. 3:3–9)." MacArthur, J., Jr. (Ed.). (1997). The MacArthur Study Bible (electronic ed., p. 1725). Nashville, TN: Word Pub.

Paul referred to the Gospel as the "Glorious Gospel" 2 Corinthians 4:4. It is glorious, because it gloriously brings people to Christ.
It is glorious. 1. justification 2. sanctification

The greasy gracer is allergic to that part. 2 Pe 2:1 Paul referred to the Gospel as the "Glorious Gospel" 2 Corinthians 4:4. It is glorious, because it gloriously brings people to Christ.

[Better cut off that 'obedience' part (v. 26). ] This thread is about the fact that Paul's gospel was a mystery...

1 Pe 1:16

Paul's gospel is the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom...

1 Thess. 4:7

Fix your quote of me...

I quote you exactly (Eph 4:14).

1 Pet. 1:2

[ I quote you exactly (Eph 4:14). ] It was a broken quote before I asked you to fix it and you edited.

I didn't edit it (Eph 4:14).

Looking back on the thread, I see you didn't fix it.

When I quote others, I quote them exactly. Eph 4:14

Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” (Jos 3:5, emphasis mine).

I did not say, "[Better cut off that 'obedience' part (v. 26).]" as you make it appear by placing it inside my quote. Get out of my space by keeping your comments out of my quote...

I'm not here to teach you English 101 (Eph 4:14).

For some odd reason, certain groups of posters on TOL have a strong aversion to the Apostle Paul.

There's no problem with the apostle Paul. There is a problem with the false convert (Jud 4 ).

...It's just the bible--it wasn't written to you (Jn 17:17, 19).

A very famous eschatologist and Bible teacher proposes that God reveals his plans incrementally in order to thwart Satan's attempts to subvert his plans. Even so, Satan has attempted to thwart God's plans over the centuries, acting on the info that he has.

Wouldn't want to mention his name around here? Would it turn into an ad hominemfest? Eph 4:14

The news is prophecy.

I don't usually start a new Wars & Rumors of Wars thread until some prophetic event occurs. Most of my threads are closed anyway.

Do you believe Paul's report...

There's nothing wrong with the apostle Paul. There's something wrong with the false convert who excludes repentance (Rom. 5:9) from his gospel (Ac 26:20). Discuss God's holiness and how important that is to you (Re 3:7). Discuss the sanctification process and how it has changed you (Heb 9:14). Discuss your love for God's perfect law and your hatred for every false way (Ps 119:163).
