Hell: I want your thoughts!

"Hell was created for the devil and his angels. If you go, you are an intruder." ~ Adrian Rogers Mt 25:41, 2 Pe 3:9.

I think Rob Bell believes in Hell. There may be a way out of Hell someday.

If by "everlasting" you mean "temporary"--sure (Mt 25:41, 46). Rob Bell has no biblical support for his claim. When you offend an eternal God, your punishment is eternal. We were made to live forever somewhere--that will be in the presence of God or apart from him (2 Co 5:8).

Response to comment [from a Christian]:  "Serpentdove has no biblical support for...Offending an eternal God leads to eternal punishment..."

"..The punishment of the wicked dead in hell is described throughout Scripture as “eternal fire” (Matthew 25:41), “unquenchable fire” (Matthew 3:12), “shame and everlasting contempt” (Daniel 12:2), a place where “the fire is not quenched” (Mark 9:44-49), a place of “torment” and “fire” (Luke 16:23-24), “everlasting destruction” (2 Thessalonians 1:9), a place where “the smoke of torment rises forever and ever” (Revelation 14:10-11), and a “lake of burning sulfur” where the wicked are “tormented day and night forever and ever” (Revelation 20:10)..." Response to comment [from a Catholic]:  "[D]o you want to be saved from hell?"

You cannot work your way to heaven. Roman Catholicism, like all world religions, is work-based. Christianity is faith based.

Works vs Faith

What to "Do"

Can I loose my salvation? One Saved Always Saved?

"...[I]s it your job to explain that to us?"

It is my privilege to share the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 4:4,  Rom. 16:25).

"I often wonder why you all work so hard to let us know..."

"Us"? There is no us (Mt 10:34).  You are not interested in the truth (Matt. 15:9, Mark 7:6-9, Col. 2:8).

"You should first get it right if you are going to share it [the gospel of Jesus Christ]."

You belong to an apostate church (Rev. 3:14–22). You have faith in religion (Matt. 15:9, Mark 7:6-9, Col. 2:8). We have faith in the person of Jesus Christ (Jn 6:29; Ac 20:21.

"We all read the same Bible."

Are you sure about that?

Why Isn't the Apocrypha in the Bible?

"How many can interpret it correctly?"

If you are going to trust corrupt men (Rev. 3:14–22) to interpret scripture for you, you'll be deceived (Ac 17:11). The Holy Spirit (not your priest) is our teacher (1 Co 2:10,13, Jn 16:13-14, 14:26). We compare scripture against other scriptures (1 Cor 2:13) not the Pope's opinion (Matt. 15:9, Mark 7:6-9, Col. 2:8).

You've got a whole lot of pageantry in your church but little devotion to the word of God (1 Th 2:13). In hockey, we call this "all say no play". Too bad you don't take the word of God to heart (De 6:6; 11:18).

Response to comment [from a Catholic]: [Krsto quote: "Perhaps God is trying to tell you something."] "He is and that is why He gave us a Church."

Your church is filled with zombies (Mt 23:27). One just crawled back out of his grave recently. I can't wait for Dawn of the Living Dead Pt II.

We do not worship a stone cold idol (Enyart). We worship living God (Ge 1:1).

Response to comment [from a Christian]:  "Your second set of scriptures show that Christians have eternal life and the rest don't. That's hardly proving the rest are made to live forever, but rather lends even more weight to the idea that they don't."

Annihilationism is false.

"One view of hell that seems to be making a strong resurgence today among evangelicals is Annihilationism. There are slight variations, but it essentially teaches God will eventually snuff every unbeliever out of existence. Some Annihilationists make room for divine wrath, but they don’t allow it to extend beyond the lake of fire. In other words, they won’t allow God the full force of His judgment, which is eternal, conscious torment. For them, the lake of fire is what completely consumes and finally destroys sinners. Whether they see death as the end, or whether they see hell’s torments as limited in duration, the result is the same—a denial of the endlessness of hell..." Full text:
