Establishment Clause of the First Amendment
Response to comment [from other]: "What's your fear
that children in our public schools system [aren't] being indoctrinated into
Christianity?"
What is your fear of the truth?
Did you know that students at Harvard were
required to translate the Old and New Testaments from the original Greek and
Hebrew into Latin? My, how the mighty fall. Today, Harvard is a
godless, poison ivy school.
What made our country great was our love
for God. God is gracious. When you ask him to leave, he will.
I pray he doesn't listen to those like you.
"Slavery made this country great in the
beginning..."
The founders had abolishing slavery in mind and set up
our Declaration of Independence and Constitution (based on biblical principles)
to that end "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created
equal":
The same sentiment appears in the
Massachusetts Constitution of 1780, which predates the U.S.
Constitution by seven years, and was the first of its kind in
the world....
Article I. All men are born free
and equal, and have certain natural, essential, and
unalienable rights; among which may be reckoned the
right of enjoying and defending their lives and
liberties; that of acquiring, possessing, and protecting
property; in fine, that of seeking and obtaining their
safety and happiness..." full text:

[Education]
Plato said there are two questions:
1. Who gets to teach the children?
2. What are they teaching?
I don't let the godless educate my kids.
How about you?
Response to comment [from other]: "While
certain men like Jefferson is quoted as stating they would like to end slavery,
it can hardly be claimed to be a widespread sentiment of the time."
Disparage our founders. I think they were
exceptional God-fearing men for the most part.

"I would much rather the "godless" teach my children, which would leave their
religious instruction to me while a dry cirriculum of plain hsitory and sciences
were taught by the "godless"."
That is irresponsible and sinful (Pro 22:6). You
want a bunch of pagan, heathen, reprobates running around our country.
"Religious doctrine in public schools, as well as forced prayers and bible
study, absolutely stomp on the rights of every person..."
Public schools began to ensure the biblical literacy of
children. This is not a value of yours, so be it. When our country
is gone, you'll know why. Our best days are behind us (and you will notice
the polls suggest that most believe this).
Response to comment [from other]: "So don't let a godless person teach
your kids about God. Does it matter if your children's mathematics teacher
believes? He's not teaching theology he's teaching mathematics."
It matters to me. I have met my child's math
teacher. She loves Jesus and brings his teaching into the classroom
whenever possible. Those who believe in the real Jesus (not the
spirit-brother of Lucifer who became a god of Mormonism) do not exclude him from
any area of study.
Christians have a personal relationship with their
creator. Where we go, he goes--be it in the math classroom or the history
classroom or the geography classroom (Col 2:6). It is unconscionable to
ask him to leave as the public schools have officially done.
Any parent who sends his child to the public schools
sins.
"You forget one important detail. By including religion into a law,
that law effects everyone. Therefore, the [argument] has then indeed stepped on
someone's religious rights. The Establishment Clause is, by it's nature, a
wall and not a one-way turnstile."
I do not worship the Constitution as others do. I
worship the Lord Jesus. I am in favor of his ruling and reigning.
This is not the form of government that we have now, but it is the future rule
of law. Everyone should prepare for his leadership now (1 Jn 3:3).
"While religion might work in a theocracy, it has no place outside of the
private sector in a secular Constitutional Republic."
Works for me. It worked for the Jews well, too.
The moment they gave up the Lord's rule and reign, they were headed downward.
Sort of like us.
"There is also this to consider as well...Art. 11. As the Government of the
United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian
religion; From the Tripoli Treaty of 1796, written, ratified and signed into US
Law by the very same men who Founded this Nation."
Do not fail to remember that the founders of America
wanted Christianity to be encouraged.

A far less biased site."
I prefer my own, thanks.
"I would imagine you would like a minister to teach religion, and not quantum
physics unless he has a degree in that area."
A Christian does not need a degree to preach the
gospel. Some of the best Christians did not attend seminary.
"Also please note. I am not a Christian. Your sin set doesn't apply to me."
Sin applies to every person. The Bible says there
is no one good (Ro 3:12, 1Ki 8:46; Ec 7:20. ).
Sin entered into the world by Adam (Ge 3:6,7; Ro 5:12); all
men are conceived and born in sin ( Ge 5:3; Job 15:14;
25:4; Ps 51:5); all men are shaped in sin (Ps 51:5). God requires that
every person confess his sin (Le 5:5; Ho 5:15).

"I'm sorry, but plain history has shown that Christianity doesn't make for a
good neighbor, nor good government."
That is because you believe lies about history and
Christianity.
"In 6000 years of recorded history in religious wars
about 3 million people died and that's regrettable.
Hitler and Stalin, who rejected God, alone are
responsible for the deaths of 57 million people.
We are talking about all religious wars: Muslims,
Hindus and oriental religions. If you talk about religious wars that
involve "Christians", it's about 1.8 million. If you are talking about
those who are Bible-believing, what we call Evangelical Christians, it is less
than 1/4 million.
Those who reject God--57 million and the
number is growing (Rogers, Can An Intellectual Believe in God?)." TOL

"I would hope we don't have a theocracy! I'm sorry to say, your
religion has just as lousy a history when in utter control as any Muslim
theocracy today."
You will have a theocracy (Zech. 6:13).
How many Christians do you know who tell you that they want to kill you? Do
yourself a favor--when someone says they want to kill you, believe them.
Too bad you do not see the difference between friend and foe (John 16:2).

Correct.
Our country was, however, founded by Christian men who had no intention of
engaging in a holy war with a Muslim nation. Hence Article 11 concludes with
with the following (which you conveniently left out):
"as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or
tranquility, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any
war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by
the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce
an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries."
Thank you for that clarification. I bet you look
just like your avatar.
Response to comment [from other]: "Your religion, your gods, and your
sin set apply to Christians only."
The problem with the world is sin
(De 9:7; Jos 1:18). God provided a savior (Jn 3:16).
"There is a matter of Europeans refusing to be converted and being put to
death..."
I do not defend Roman Catholics. They put
believers in Jesus Christ to death. They teach a different Jesus, a
different gospel, and a different way of salvation from historical, biblical
Christianity.

"...[Y]our "true believers" were more time than not murdered by their fellow
"true believers"."
Not mine. I am a believer in Jesus Christ.
I am not a Roman Catholic. Roman Catholics murdered Christians (Jn 3:7).
"Hitler was a Christian..."
Hitler was not a Christian (Jn 3:7, Mt 7:16).
"Why do you insist on quoting your scriptures to someone who see it as a
poorly written fantasy novel?"
Your view does not make scripture any less true.
The cults try to twist it.
The liberals water it down.
The humanists ignore it.
So-called Christians claim they love it but don't study it. Some people have
enough dust on their Bible to write with their finger 'damnation' (Rogers).

Inspired Scripture
Response to comment [from other]: "Your rather "sinful" judgmental
views on the RC doesn't negate the plain fact that they are Christians."
Membership in a church does not make a person a
Christian (Mt 7:20). Trust in the Lord alone for salvation makes a person
a Christian (Eph 2:8).
"Christians terrorist groups..."
Sure.
Christians are known for their terror around the world. Meanwhile, I was

doesn't negate the horrors the religion has caused, from wars and Inquisitions
to the systematic attempted eradication of ancient cultures and religions
wherever Christians have landed."
Have you ever met a true, born-again Christian?
You will know a Christian by his fruits (Mt 7:20). True Christians have
done more for the world than anyone else.

"We have no need or desire to be bothered by you or your gods. And save
